Not Again

Just got this from a news letter from A.N.S.W.E.R. as they begin the promotion campaign for their next major action in March

Join us on Saturday, March 15th for a massive demonstration in Washington, D.C., at which we will exercise our rights to assemble and speak on behalf of the majority of Americans, the majority of Iraqis, the majority of U.S. troops, and the majority of people around the world who all say: U.S. Out of Iraq! This gathering will support the Iraq Veterans Against The War Winter Soldier Testimonial.

If you paid any attention to the 2004 election one of the main charges leveled against John Kerry involved his testimony in the Senate regarding the "Winter Soldier Project" where many who participated lied about what they saw what they did and even about where they served.

A month after news of Mi Lai 109 "veterans" of the Vietnam war met in Detroit to exploit the news and capitalize on the  dismay Americans naturally felt at such news. While many involved were true vet and witnessed many hard things, the descriptions of crimes being wide spread, overlooked and even encouraged by superiors was a lie. But worse then these exaggerations were the flat out lies by many who did not serve in combat, go to Vietnam, or even serve at all, this fact was not revealed until after Kerry's testimony (and is denied to this very day) but by then the damage had been done.

Read "Stolen Valor" by BG Burkett,

Winter Soldier co-organizer, Al Hubbard, lied about being an officer wounded in Vietnam, and was confronted about it shortly afterward. Hubbard was a E-5 Staff Sergeant who did not serve in Vietnam.  Hubbard was one of the men who had the job of vetting the soldiers who would testify during Winter Soldier.

We have today the makings of a new smear against our troops, who are the people who will guide this, who will be the ones to make the false claims, and will we stand for it once more? I will not!!!

Remember 9-11

6 Years ago we were attacked.

The war goes on

The far left wants the war to end and end badly for us.

But there is only one way to end this war

Haditha falls apart.

As the far left tries to smear our troops with the most vile charges,

Now That the legal charges brought against two marines from Haditha have been ruled to be unfounded CNN brings a video from that fight to the public. This video puts a context to the attacks yet they did two things in that video to keep the "evil-troops" narrative alive. 1st they lay claim that all civilians were killed by our troops and 2nd they call for someone to be convicted or there will be no justice.
"It be would be difficult to say justice has been served if no one is convicted in Haditha"
For the first that is still a question in doubt. And as for the second, well this quote is the best I've found on the subject.
"Yes, deadly crimes were committed — by the insurgents, whose day-in, day-out war crimes of taking cover among the civilians created this tragedy. The law holds them responsible. We must always remember that the blame for these deaths lies first and foremost at the feet of these war criminals, whose habitual disregard for the basic standards of civilization has been allowed to be forgotten. They are treated in the press like a force of nature, but they are men, and the law has a great deal to say about their actions. The crimes of Haditha were their crimes."

Closer and closer

I've been worried about a wider war in the middle east for a few years as both Iran and Syria make noise. With Iran directly attacking US and Iraqi forces and Syria moving troops towards the Golan Heights and making new claims of ownership of the strategic hills once used to shell Israeli towns and villages.

I don't think going to war with these two nations is unavoidable but it is increasingly becoming the only way to win the War on Terror.

Bad liar

So this lady says US troops shot up her house. As proof she hold up for the photographer bullets she says hit her house, bullets that were never fired, bullets that in at least one report are not even used by out troops. This lie is one of many made up to continue the mantra of our guys being evil killers. The one that the far left heeds and repeats and march to proclaim! This is how they give aid and comfort to our enemy!

They support hate our Troops

The US Navy's Blue Angels have draw the wrath of the San Fransisco anti-war crowd... Well this is not news, they try every year to stop the Blue Angels from performing, except that this year it seems that they may seceded. So why do they want to ban the Blue Angels...
SAN FRANCISCO Efforts by several peace groups to stop the Blue Angels air show during Fleet Week in San Francisco have gained the support of Supervisor Chris Daly.

snip
They’re weapons of mass destruction and there’s really nothing, I think, about them that people should think of as being good or desirable,” said Paul Cox with Veterans for Peace. “In a time where we’ve got a war going on in Iraq, it brings images of the kinds of death and destruction these things rain down on people around the world.”

And I will bet when asked he'll tell you he supports our troops

Update: Resoultion fails, more hate the troops..
“The Blue Angels are totally unnecessary,” said a resolution supporter. “I believe they are sent here to terrorize this town because we are an anti-war city.”

Bush Lied... NOT

Ties to bin Laden here.
Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has offered asylum to bin Laden, who openly supports Iraq against the Western powers.

I wonder if this was before or after Clinton bombed the empty tents in Afghanistan?
Answer: After...

In response, the U.S. launched cruise missiles on Aug. 20, 1998, striking a terrorism training complex in Afghanistan and destroying a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Khartoum, Sudan, that reportedly produced nerve gas. Both targets were believed to have been financed by wealthy Islamic radical Osama bin Laden, who was allegedly behind the embassy bombings as well as an international terrorism network targeting the United States.

War is the answer

It appears that the furthest left of the far left peace movement is getting froggy...this is an add for a Ward Churchill book 'Pacifism as Pathology'

Pacifism, the ideology of nonviolent political resistance, has been the norm among mainstream North American progressive groups for decades. But to what end? Ward Churchill challenges the pacifist movement's heralded victories—Ghandhi in India, 1960s anti-war activists, even Martin Luther King's civil rights movement—suggesting that their success was in spite of, rather than because of, their nonviolent tactics.

Time now to start the new revolution?

The war today

News is that the terrorist have found a way to counter our anti-IED measures, this would require some advance technology, someone is providing aid and comfort to our enemy. In war, especially a long war like this, it is a game of measures and counter measures. And we are hard at work finding a way to regain the ability to defeat the deadly IED. The just announced extension is sure to throw the anti-war nuts into a frenzy. Even now, a reporter asks if the army is breaking a promise to the troops. Hey, its war and you have to make tough choices.

What are we to do?

Today we stand on the edge of war, a wider war, world war III. When I think of how this could have been stopped I know that the chances to stop this war most likely past us by 20 some odd years ago when we knew Iran had direct responsibility in the Lebanon barracks bombing and we did nothing. After that all of our enemies tested us, pushed us, and we held or wrath. Then 9/11 and we had to respond we did well, our enemy backed off for a bit then they saw a weakness return. We don't see it as a weakness and really it isn't but to our enemies they saw it as such. Groups like ANSWER formed just days after 9/11 to fight any attempt to show strength, at first they failed, but with time and with the constant media attacks on our efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq (for partisan political advantage) We began to question our response, we thought of ways to lessen the negative impact on our enemies. To us it was a strength showing thru we found compassion as a way to combat hate. But the hate only grew and was emboldened by our compassion and soon that hate took steps to use our compassion against us... as they turned their weapons against their own people and then pointed our cameras to the carnage, we turned our compassion to sympathy for the victims of this dreadful violence... the enemy then took up the mantel of victimhood. He began to fight where the cameras could see where the reporters could hear. Taping and sending images of the death and destruction to CNN. The fact that every night we find only calls for our surrender on the news now has put us on the brink of a wider war. Emboldened, Iran is sending solders to fight in Iraq, providing bombs to kill our people and the only outrage here is that we can't get out fast enough? They take people and hold them on trumped up charges, force them to make confessions in violation of Geneva. And here we say that maybe the Britons were on the wrong side of the river? That maybe Iran is just trying to get us to stop being mean to them? I hope we see soon that fighting a war with compassion is the only way to surely lose that war. America is a strong nation and any enemy who thinks our compassion will lead us to suicide will very quickly find that line he could not cross, and find America and her allies at their doorstep. If the anti-war left wants to live in the peace and security they have enjoyed for these many years, when they come home from their rally they should pray for our anger to be brought forth in a manner that unites us fully as one nation in a war that must be won. If we fail to rally in time, if the enemy can drive us away from the fight, then our friends who oppose this war should pray that those who thought this battle was going to be settled by talking with madmen will be able to find for them a safe place to pray 5 times a day.
