Wow! Obama in Afghanistan

And he allowed pictures to be taken

Air Force One landed in darkness at Bagram airfield north of the Afghan capital, and Obama was whisked by helicopter to Karzai's palace in Kabul, where he was greeted by the Afghan president and a band playing the U.S. national anthem.

And not without a bit of “Obama Tells” ™ to yet another leader

National security advisor General James Jones told reporters on Air Force One that Obama would tell Karzai "in this second term that there are certain things he has to do as the president of his country to battle the things that have not been paid attention to almost since day one."

For a man who campaigned against the “Arrogance of America” he sure is well versed in displaying it.

Mini-TEA Party

After Sundays anti-war rally I had some time to attend what I thought was a TEA Party rally but turned out to be a rally for the republican congressional candidate in my district. James Watkins.

Others there were also under the impression that this was a TEA party event, It was a James Watkins for Congress/No on Obama's Healthcare takeover (Rick Larson voted Yes) event.

I like what I’ve read and what I’ve seen from Mr. Watkins so I do not mind supporting him, I may even vote for him.

More Hate on Display

These have to be about the worse of the signs I've seen from this weekends rallies. they were taken in DC by Flickr user jlilyea. Who also post on the blog “This Ain’t Hell

Do you still want to try and tell me the left is about Peace?

Tell me do you still think they support our Troops?

Do you still think they care about choice?

You’ll never convince me.

Not too bright

Those are the words used by police in Fairfield, Connecticut to describe two would be bank robbers, hoping to save some time I guess, who called the bank in advance and asked the person on the phone to have the money ready for them, Police met the robbers ten minutes later as they arrived in the parking lot.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) - Police in Connecticut say they had ample warning of a bank robbery because the two suspects called the bank ahead of time and told an employee to get a bag of money ready.

Police arrested 27-year-old Albert Bailey and an unidentified 16-year-old boy on robbery and threatening charges Tuesday afternoon at a People's United Bank branch in Fairfield.

Sgt. James Perez says the two Bridgeport residents showed up about 10 minutes after making the call and were met by police in the parking lot. Perez told the Connecticut Post the suspects were "not too bright."

The Anti-war is over

Another dismal showing for the anti-war crowd who used to be able to get 5 to 10 thousand people to show up. Ok 2 to 5 thousand is more like it but I digress.  For today’s rally if they say 300 they are lying.

Well I did see a few new signs…

IMG_1474 IMG_1475 IMG_1513 IMG_1558 IMG_1597 IMG_1713

Not that any of it made any sense.

This event was filled with Symbolism and Familiar faces.
