Yea That’ll work, like a brick Battleship!

Did Chicago once have a brick battleship?

By all accounts it was. Constructed and furnished for $115,000, big money at the time, the Illinois rested on a foundation of piles and timber, on top of which sat a faux hull made of brick covered with concrete to give the appearance of steel. The superstructure, including guns, turrets, and armor, consisted of wood framing and metal coated with cement.

We are all suckers now

Here you go, have some hope and change

President Obama's health care overhaul law will increase the nation's health care tab instead of bringing costs down, government economic forecasters concluded Thursday in a sobering assessment of the sweeping legislation.

Thank you sir, may I have another?

But the analysis also found that the law falls short of the president's twin goal of controlling runaway costs. It also warned that Medicare cuts may be unrealistic and unsustainable, driving about 15% of hospitals into the red and "possibly jeopardizing access" to care for seniors.

If only someone had tried to warn us… Oh yea someone did…

Sunday Music: Beautiful Life

I absolutely love this band, the newest CD is called Water. If you want to give it a listen you can hear a bit of it on Fisher’s website. If you don’t own any Fisher music yet I recommend “The Lovely Years

This is really bad

Some say it is wrong to judge people, but we surely can judge their actions…

To the Editor:
I object and take exception to everyone saying that Obama and Congress are spending money like a drunken sailor. As a former drunken sailor, I quit when I ran out of money.

Tea in Olympia

So I scraped up enough money to get a half a tank of gas and drove to the Rally in Olympia had a great time and got hugged by a beautiful woman :) (married but beautiful) whose Identity I am forbidden to reveal. Not really but…

So about 3,000 people showed up with many wonderful signs. I made a very, very large set on flickr and it will take a while to get the movie up so I’ll put a small number of photos here and update with the videos when it’s ready

IMG_1837 The laRouche guys were there so the press could report on the Hitler Mustache, they may, however, forget to mention that LaRouche is a democrat .

IMG_1838 My first look at the crowd about 20 minutes till noon.

IMG_2138 What we want…

IMG_2126 What we don’t want.

IMG_2119 My favorite Tea Partier, Not the the girl who hugged me, and not “Liberty Belle” but she is a friend of Miss Belle.

IMG_1962 The Truth

IMG_2089 I heart this sign.

IMG_2075 The only threats were for the ballot box.

IMG_1971 An infiltrator? maybe.

I could go on but I have a video to edit, visit my flickr page for more great signs

You can check my YouTube. Video’s will be there first, one is on the way now…

Update: So I found a liberal to harass… A member of the Tacoma Coffee Party… can you say “PWND”

Did you notice the “civil political discourse” when the first guy walked away, or when he started to talk about “Glenn Beck”…

Morning Coffee

I thought it was supposed to be the coffee that was "perky" lol!

They don’t like us

So we now know of plans to frame the Tea Parties by having Liberal activist infiltrate our events. Meanwhile the Tea Party Movement is turning out to be more mainstream than the Mainstream Media. So while democrats are joining us, leftist are sowing distrust, don’t get caught in the trap. Here are some good guide lines from a California tea party group.

tea_party_warning Photo from a DC rally ht:SondraK

So here are some tips for dealing with this situation, should it arise at your tea party.

1. Be prepared. Make sure your security team knows about the potential for disturbance, and your procedures for dealing with any issues. If you have law enforcement at your event, let them know about the potential threats in advance. Most are happy to remove people who intend to disturb your event.

a. Have a plan. We suggest that you handle every incident in a predetermined manner. Your preparation will allow you to handle any incident in a calm and reasoned manner.

i. No aggressive confrontation. Make sure all of your people know that they are in the media spotlight. Our behavior will be watched. So if you encounter these miscreants, be polite, and ask them to leave your event. If you have police there, ask them to help you.

ii. Video, video, video. Make sure you have teams of people with Flip cams or other easy format video, and make sure every single encounter of this nature is captured on videotape. Create the record. We’ll use it later to publicly humiliate the bad actors, and also to allow you to prove your version of the incidents if challenged.

iii. Partner up. If you are going to deal with one of these situations, always have at least one other person with you. It’s imperative that any situation not be your word against someone else’s. Have a witness and a helper with you at all times.

iv. Make signs that say “Infiltrator” (OR “Not One of Us”). This person is not with us.” Put a big arrow on it so that you can stand next to infiltrators and point at them. Usually this will embarrass them, ruin their prank, and they will leave. Plus it’s just plain fun and makes for great photos and video. Again…always with good humor, and a cheerful demeanor. It’s fun to mock the lefties, and it makes them truly crazy when you are nice.

b. Lay Out the Ground Rules. Talk about the issue of behavior and signs at the beginning of your event. Set the guidelines from stage.

i. No signs or behavior evidencing bigotry or racism of any kind will be tolerated, and people will be asked to get rid of them or leave.

ii. We are polite, law abiding people, and that’s how we run our events.

iii. Ask attendees to immediately report any suspicious people to event security or the police (according to your own guidelines).

c. Don’t worry…be happy. If you weren’t so good at what you are doing, and so successful at influencing the debate in this country, people wouldn’t feel compelled to try to shoot you down using sleazy tactics. You are dominating the political playing field, and doing so by being honest, operating with integrity and staying within the law. Be proud of what you are accomplishing, and enjoy your day.

I Paid my taxes, Now What?

I’m taking tax day off (April 15th)

There are two tea parties I can go to, one ends at 1:30 in Bellevue the other starts in Oak Harbor at 2:30 If I make the ferry I just might be on time.  and if I’m lucky I just might make it to Seattle before they wrap things up there.

Update: Day before Payday, and no gas money so I’m staying local, I may still try Oak Harbor too. we’ll see.

Update 2: Wait doesn’t Safeway (gas) take checks? Hmmm check back tonight to see what happened, The Olympia rally is looking mighty tempting.

Just outta the blue

So I belong to this mailing list for fan of a Canadian musician who is about to go on tour. in a talk about other tours this came up…

And in the same breath, I'm completely rocked by the very thought of GWAR
and Stevie Wonder possibly sharing the same stage. I'd beat up a room full
of old ladies to see that.  OK, not old ladies... I'd definitely turn a AK
on a room full of Teabaggers for a chance to see that, however!

I know most of these people are libs, but it’s just a shock to see this coming from people who for years talked about the need for tolerance.
