A lie in a sentence

Ok I get about 5 or 6 emails from the Obama campaign every week and almost everyone ask for a donation to fight some evil that the republicans are planing or the help spread the word that McCain is George Bush in an old man suit. So imagine my surprise when the first line of the latest plea was...

George --

I've never asked you to make a donation before.

Well I checked, and of the many Obama e-mails I have, 11 are from Jon Carson and every e-mail ends like this,

Jon Carson
National Field Director (or National Voter Contact Director in earlier e-mails)
Obama for America

donate

So while he hasn't out right "asked" me for a donation he has in fact asked me to donate.

Hope Change Obey

I made a little animated Gif for you to enjoy.

Maoist and children

When you watch this video you will see three adults, the way they stand and watch it, I caught a very Maoist vibe.

William Ayers and the Weather Underground are Maoist.

So I have to wonder, does this video violate the McCain-Feingold prohibition against mentioning a candidate’s name in a campaign add.
re: the “Vote” at the end of the video.
Who paid for it, professional banners, high quality video and recording equipment and three Maoist watching it all.

3Maoist

Update: I knew it.

Here's a partial list of those who helped produce this "grassroots" effort:

  • Jeff Zucker — American television executive, and President & CEO of NBC Universal.
  • Post-producer (former choreographer?) Holly Shiffer.
  • Motion picture camera operator/steadicam specialist Peter Rosenfeld (appropriately enough, worked in "Yes Man," a movie about " a guy challenges himself to say 'yes' to everything for an entire year."
  • Darin Moran, another motion picture industry professional, who just finished filming — how appropriate — Land of the Lost.
  • Andy Blumenthal, Hollywood film editor.

Grassroots all the way, baby

Update2: they brag

Sing for Change was a confluence of hard work, good will, and shared vision. Inspired by ideas raised at a grassroots Obama fundraiser, a music teacher, Kathy Sawada, and the children composed and rehearsed the songs in less than two weeks. Several musicians heard of the effort and volunteered to accompany the children.

Production wizards got wind of the project and offered their help in recordingit. The likes of Jeff Zucker, Holly Schiffer, Peter Rosenfeld, Darin Moran, Jean Martin, Andy Blumenthal, and Nick Phoenix rearranged schedules to participate. Holly Schiffer was able to get three High Definition cameras (Panasonic HVX250’s), and an AVID editing facility.

Update3: Make it better

Try socialism often enough and one day it might work.

Update4: corection from update2:

The wrong entertainment industry Obamaphile named Jeff Zucker was
originally credited above. Now corrected.

Jeff Zucker
American television executive, and President & CEO of NBC Universal Gaffer,
Chief Lighting Technician in Boogie Nights

Also fixed the link for Update2

Update5: I replaced the video because, has GREGOR pointed out in comments, the lefties have been deleating this to cover their tracks (a little too true for public consumption)

Vacation Hope

The Democrats have contracted for and received about 300 silver coins with the words "Barack Obama" "The President 2008" and "In God We Trust".

Obama Coin obamaproof

A company in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter is making commemorative coins for American presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

And if the Democratic candidate is elected to become the most powerful man in the world on November 4, it could open the floodgates for millions of pounds worth of business for the firm.

Winston Elizabeth & Windsor has already sold more than 300 limited edition commemorative silver coins to the Democratic Party to hand out to key members of the campaign to elect Obama.

You know they could have found a US company with Union labor to do this work. If they really wanted to avoid outsourcing jobs.

Vacation Punchline

I'm on vacation till Tuesday and so I'm not doing much. I turn 46 on Monday.

So I'll just copy and paste this little joke I found at Last of The Few. (not always safe for work.)

Smart boy...

An old man sitting on his front porch in Louisiana watching the sunrise sees the neighbor's kid walk by carrying something big under his arm.
He yells out, "Hey boy, whatcha got there?"
The boy yells back, "Roll of chicken wire."
The old man says, "What you gonna do with that?"
The boy says, "Catch some chickens."
The old man yells, "You damn fool, you can't catch chickens with chicken wire!"
The boy just laughs and keeps walking.
That evening at sunset the boy comes walking by and to the old man's surprise, he is dragging behind him the chicken wire with about 30 chickens caught in it.
At the same time the next morning, the old man is out watching the sunrise and he sees the boy walk by carrying something kind of round in his hand.
The old man yells out, "Hey boy, whatcha got there?"
The boy yells back, "Roll of duck tape."
The old man says, "What you gonna do with that?"
The boy says back, "Catch me some ducks."
The old man yells back, "You damn fool, you can't catch ducks with duck tape!"
The boy just laughs and keeps walking.
That night, around sunset, the boy walks by coming home and to the old man's amazement, he is trailing behind him the unrolled roll of duck tape with about 35 ducks caught in it.
At the same time the next morning, the old man sees the boy walking by carrying what looks like a long reed with something fuzzy on the end.
The old man says, "Hey boy, whatcha got there?"
The boy says, "It's a pussy willow."
The old man says "Hold on, I'll get my hat."

Oct 7th?

New reports on internet activity indicate a possible attack on the 7th in New York and/or DC.

A posting uncovered in an Arabic language Internet forum is currently raising a few eyebrows in the intelligence community. The single posting, which is presently being scrutinized by intelligence officials, appears to provide detailed instructions for Muslims living within the United States, giving them specific actions to take before, during and after an upcoming attack in the U.S.

The instructions from Al-Qaeda include moving woman and children to training camps, sleepers reporting to local cells who have been already activated, and disrupting global shipping after the attack. Reports indicate a possible WMD attack.

Motorists entering the quaint, woodsy town of Olema near the sea in Marin County may notice a subtle change as they enter: it appears the burg's name has been changed to ''Obama.''

Ride The Duck

I went to Seattle today and just happened upon the place where the Duck Tour trucks enter and exit lake union so I took a video.

No reason to post this, just for fun.

No knowledge of diversity

A school made a 15 year old wear a bright yellow (scarlet) t-shirt (letter) with the words "Dress code violator" for wearing this red white and blue shirt.

Flagshirt

The school claimed that the shirt violated the policy of not wearing clothing that “promotes one ethnicity over another”. The American flag represents the most diverse nation on earth. To claim that displaying the flag in anyway violates this policy shows a complete lack of understanding of what America stands for. From KMPH TV 26 Fresno CA.

Driving home I passed a scene I had not seen in a very long time. A group of people holding signs on the street corner, not protesting the war, not supporting our troops, Celebrating the gift of salvation thru the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.

The E-Mail Spin

Sarah Palin's E-Mail Account was opened to the public by a board leftist who sat around and Googled enough to find the answer to her secret question.

the question was “where did you meet your spouse?” did some research, and apparently she had eloped with mister palin after college, if youll look on some of the screenshits that I took and other fellow anon have so graciously put on photobucket you will see the google search for “palin eloped” or some such in one of the tabs.

I found out later though more research that they met at high school, so I did variations of that, high, high school, eventually hit on “Wasilla high” I promptly changed the password to popcorn and took a cold shower…

He/she then posted screen captures of emails and photos of the governor's family on a message board. By the hackers own admission he/she was looking for evidence to use against Sarah Palin but found none.

I read though the emails… ALL OF THEM… before I posted, and what I concluded was anticlimactic, there was nothing there, nothing incriminating, nothing that would derail her campaign as I had hoped, all I saw was personal stuff, some clerical stuff from when she was governor…. And pictures of her family

This has not stopped the media from claiming that it was there.

The disclosure Wednesday raises new questions about the propriety of the Palin administration's use of nongovernment e-mail accounts to conduct state business.

This came to light almost immediately after Yahoo deleted the account when the hack became public.

And now, the account has been deleted! Which is, as we said, maybe destruction of evidence? So for now this is, we think, all we'll get to see from this email account (if anyone finds evidence of saved emails, let us know.)

So someone compromises the account, the account is deleted by the company, and you think the account holder committed a crime? Lefties will do anything to paint Governor Palin with mud!

A twist of meaning?

hillary_crying Hillary Clinton accepted an invitation to appear at a anti Iran rally in front of the UN on the 22nd. She then withdrew after hearing that Governor Sarah Palin may also be attending.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has canceled an appearance at a New York rally next week after organizers blindsided her by inviting Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, aides to the senator said Tuesday

It's said that her aides were furious, How dare they invite people from both parties to attend.

"Her (Palin's) attendance was news to us, and this was never billed to us as a partisan political event," said Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines. "Sen. Clinton will therefore not be attending."

Funny I thought that inviting people from both parties would make it a bipartisan event, I guess I'm not has smart has the smartest woman in the world.

I knew it!

050219_brain_vmed_1p_widec I knew that vegetarians were messing something, turns out it is a little bit of their brains!

Scientists have discovered that going veggie could be bad for your brain-with those on a meat-free diet six times more likely to suffer brain shrinkage.

But don't worry too much because, you see, it not just size that matters.

So what was a larger brain good for? What was the evolutionary advantage that propelled our family tree to make more room between the ears? (snip)

The social psychologist Robin Dunbar has even suggested that the higher memory capacity in a bigger brain could have helped early hominids identify freeloaders who were not pulling their weight for the community.

Bigger brains made it easier to spot the hippies, no wonder they all turned vegetarian.

The answer to fuel savings

Diesel.

The fuel has always had better efficiency, it used to be about half the price of gas, and with new technologies it burns just has clean has gas.

If ever there was a car made for the times, this would seem to be it: a sporty subcompact that seats five, offers a navigation system, and gets a whopping 65 miles to the gallon. Oh yes, and the car is made by Ford Motor

ecocar But don't run to your dealership looking for it.

Despite the car's potential to transform Ford's image and help it compete with Toyota Motor (TM) and Honda Motor (HMC) in its home market, the company will sell the little fuel sipper only in Europe. "We know it's an awesome vehicle," says Ford America President Mark Fields. "But there are business reasons why we can't sell it in the U.S." The main one: The Fiesta ECOnetic runs on diesel.

High taxes seem to be among the  factors keeping this innovation from our shores.

Taxes aimed at commercial trucks mean diesel costs anywhere from 40 cents to $1 more per gallon than gasoline. Add to this the success of the Toyota Prius, and you can see why only 3% of cars in the U.S. use diesel. "Americans see hybrids as the darling," says Global Insight auto analyst Philip Gott, "and diesel as old-tech."

Rocks and glass houses

brokenwindow_tcm4-2663 Both Barack Obama and Joe Bidin voted for the bridge to nowhere, this comes to light after a week of these men berating Governor Palin for not being to one who killed the bridge.

However, Sen. Biden and Sen. Obama voted for funding the Bridge, even when given a second chance by Sen. Tom Coburn, who proposed shifting earmark funds to Katrina relief.

 HT: Little Green Footballs

Update: The story when it happened.

Gov. Sarah Palin ordered state transportation officials to abandon the ''bridge to nowhere'' project that became a nationwide symbol of federal pork-barrel spending. The $398 million bridge would have connected Ketchikan, on one island in southeastern Alaska, to its airport on another nearby island. ''Ketchikan desires a better way to reach the airport,'' Ms. Palin, a Republican, said in a news release, ''but the $398 million bridge is not the answer.'' She directed the State Transportation Department to find the most ''fiscally responsible'' alternative for access to the airport. Ketchikan is Alaska's entry port for northbound cruise ships that bring more than one million visitors yearly. Flights into Gravina Island require a 15-minute ferry ride to reach the more densely populated Revillagigedo Island and Ketchikan.

The battiest of the batty moonbats

I found this website last week and found it to be one of the prime examples of how far this leftist movement can go if left unchecked. It is the Ask Ethan page of a British web magazine.

So let’s start with the question that Ethan thought to answer.

evel Dear Ethan,

PLEASE don’t get mad at me. I’m just floating this as an idea. I’ve been watching Sarah Palin wow the audiences at the Republican Convention and advertise herself as an everyday hockey-mom-cum-pitbull-with-lipstick, and I’ve been thinking to myself: ‘You know, I could support this woman.’ Sure, she has some ‘off views’, but she’s a breath of fresh, Alaskan air! Ethan, give your no.1 American fan some advice: is it even remotely ethical to back Palin???

Evel Knievel Johnson III
Eight Mile, Missouri

Seems like a good honest question, even if filled with misgivings. So how would you answer, with concerns about her experience? her policies? fear she would too soon be in the top spot? These are all fair points.  Let us see.

You have finally and forever confirmed my prejudice-cum-scientific-conviction that – as a consequence of 24-hour TV, twinkies, one-tonne hamburgers, celebrity culture, oil addiction and having been ruled for eight years by a president who resembles a chimp (though without a chimp’s ability to love or to make the hand signal for ‘more bananas, please’) – Americans are the most stupid group of marauding humans on Earth.

Ah of course, by insulting America and our President. And what is it about Gov. Palin that breeds this contempt? That’s easy.

Support Sarah Palin?! A woman who OWNS A GUN and has FIVE CHILDREN?!

SarahpalingunBut wait there is more.

A woman who thinks that having a dead bear sprawled across her sofa is a sign of sophistication when in fact it reveals that she is possibly mentally ill and certainly murderously speciesist?

Speciesist? No wait it gets better.

even that wouldn’t be as bad as what YOU have suggested. At least Hitler was a vegetarian, a supporter of organic farming, a rabid anti-smoker, an opponent of garish big department stores, a promoter of breastfeeding, a scoffer of brown bread, and an implacable warrior against the modern evil that is vivisection. Which means his lifestyle choices were FAR superior to Palin’s, who probably shops at Wal-Mart (Hitler would have shut it down), bottle-feeds her small-country-sized family (Hitler would have fined her), and wouldn’t recognise (sic) an organic turnip if one was hurled at her by an angry demonstrator (and let’s hope that one is).

Sarah Palin is worse than Hitler, yes worse. note: Of course Hitler was opposed to vivisection towards animals, not quite so much for people.

sarah_palin Oh and check this out…

First off, she wears a stars-and-stripes bikini while wielding a Kalashnikov! Yes, yes, I know that picture was faked but it reveals a GREATER TRUTH, (emphasis from the author not me).

Ok so it is a fake, glad to see he is willing to acknowledge that. But that wont stop him from drawing conclusions.

The greater truth revealed by Palin’s photoshopped stars-and-stripes shenanigans is that she is a) nationalistic, b) gun-lovin’, and c) sexually wanton. Is that really the kind of person you want to have CONTROLLING America

Well so we don’t want that girl who was in a bikini with a BB gun being in a position to become President, Luckily for Ethan she will not be. Ok now that the phony photo has been discussed what’s next?

Leaving aside the bikini, Sarah Palin is also an ANIMAL KILLER! She murders moose and butchers bears.

PalinBear Americans are hunters, (most people are by the way) they relate to Sarah Palin.

So what’s it like to be hunted?

How would you like it, Evel, if I chased you through a forest, shot you, tied you to the back of a truck, dragged you to my home, displayed your naked carcass on the back of my three-piece suite, and then gave interviews to CNN and Fox about what a wonderful ‘mom’ and potential ‘VP’ I am with your dead body on full display to the world? You’d be mortified, right? Well now you know how that bear feels

I wouldn't feel anything about it, I'd be dead!

Ok let’s go on to some issues. (1 issue)

Palin opposes abortion!! Now, as every ethical fighter worth his or her salt knows, abortion is a key weapon in the war against fecund overpopulation, especially in Africa where they can’t seem to keep their hands off each other and where they are too poor/uneducated/lacking in access to ethical lifestyle advice to know how important it is to use a condom. Listen to the words of my good friend and fellow ethicist Kelpie Wilson (now there’s an American woman who has NEVER worn a stars-and-stripes bikini, in the real world or the virtual world). Wilson says abortion is super-ethical because sometimes ‘a tiny embryo must be sacrificed for the greater good of the family or the human species as a whole’; that is ‘the moral high ground that we stand on today’.

If your pro-life or pro-abortion you have to be appalled by this statement. It's racist, extremist, and super-genocidal. (Just the way Margot Sanger wanted it)

And in conclusion, (pause for applause*) we must prevent the destruction of the planet.

piperpalin2Evel, voting for Palin does not only mean that America could possibly end up with ‘First Children’ called Track and Trig who sport mullets and chew gum – even worse than that (if you can imagine anything worse), it will mean a death sentence for the planet. Don’t do it.

Trig doesn't have a mullet, yet. And Track is in the army so if he had one it got shaved off in boot camp.

* It's a Clinton jab.

Strike Strike Strike

Boeing strikedit1 This morning at midnight Boeing machinist went on strike. I went there first thing this morning to get a look. I talked to one striker and asked a few questions

1) Do you think this strike will be successful?

2) What are the key demands? And what compromises are you (and the union) willing to make to end this strike?

3) What was in the last offer that you felt were unfair?

4) I really don’t know how unions work; they pay you something while you’re striking, right?

5) How long are you willing to strike?

6) Are you prepared if the strike goes longer?

7) What kind of sacrifices are you and your family making to get thru this strike?

These are the answers.

The governor intervenes.

This is a quick look at the local media's coverage.

This is Boeing's statement.

Us jumped to soon

Us Weekly ran a story on Sarah Palin that repeated democrats talking points with no balance. That issue is due to be sent out today, but at least a few subscribers will not be waiting at the mailbox for its arrival.

“I’m hearing it’s 5,000, maybe more,” says one well-placed source in the industry. Another source claimed that as many as 10,000 readers have already cancelled their subscriptions.

sarah_palin What they did was follow the false stories of Sarah Palin not being properly vetted and the wishful thinking from the left that she would be forced to drop out before the end of the week.

“When Us went to print Monday night, it looked like the ticket was falling apart," says one magazine editor. “They went to print thinking Palin was dead in the water, and their mistake was thinking everyone who reads Us is a Democrat, when they’re not. Readers are loyal, but the base of a political party is more loyal. They don’t need to read the magazine when there’s so much press around it to know to be upset.”

And they forgot about the internet!

The Next Sarah Palin

This is what gives me hope in America's future.

HT: Theo Sparks.

Obama Wants us to be more like Europe

This was in England.

A hotel that refused an injured soldier a room, forcing him to spend the night in his car, was backed into issuing a grovelling apology yesterday after receiving a barrage of abusive phone calls.

Yet even in England the people still do love the men and women who serve. Maybe Europe wants to be more like US.

“In America, they treat soldiers as heroes. We went to Disney World with Tomos and the whole family was moved to the front of the lines. Everybody was clapping and cheering. Here, soldiers can’t even get a bed for the night.”

Write off the center

Has I was looking around for responses to the wonderful speech by Governor Palin and I stumbled on this report of Democrat  Senator and VP Pick Joe Bidin.

Obama might pursue criminal charges against Bush

This is the first wish of the far left and they will eat this up, but the center of the nation is not going to buy it. The Media and the Obama camp has given up on the center. I've heard a lot of hype from the left that McCain has lost the center by picking Palin. Yet they neglect the fact that Obama's pick of Bidin, Obama, the most liberal in the senate (left) and Bidin, the 3rd most liberal (left), put the democrats very far from the center. McCain has the center, not Obama, McCain's pick of Palin was to repair the base and it worked.

So back to the "Arrest Bush" story.

But his statements represent the Democrats' strongest vow so far this year to investigate alleged misdeeds committed during the Bush years.

"If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation, they will be pursued," Biden said during a campaign event in Deerfield Beach, Florida,

Funny, the story has three lines from Bidin then the rest is all about Obama. This is a trend.

Update: this seem a good place to put my reactions to the Palin speech.

Totally awesome and well spoken. Sarah Palin rocks, some have said she in the next Ronald Reagan, I wont go that far but surely she has become a true hero of the conservative movement. She gave her speech without pause even as we learned that her teleprompter stuttered. That, we have seen, is something Barack Obama can not do. She did the one thing the left was most afraid of, she brought the conservatives back to McCain. She made stark comparisons to the left's view of America and ours. The hope we do have not the hope they seek from the government. She showed the difference that one can make by wanting to bring your own change rather than waiting for the government to change for you. This is what a great speech is made of.

No to B.O.
