Not just a hole in the ground

In 2003, Gaz launched into a six-year-long global project of tracking down and photographing the planet's cosmic scars, beginning with Meteor Crater. The results speak for themselves: haunting, otherworldly images of craters that are familiar, and yet utterly strange.

It really is a bad ad

After reviewing the ad – which is entirely commercial in nature – our Standards and Practices department decided not to accept this particular spot,” CBS said in a statement to ManCrunch. “As always, we are open to working with the client on alternative submissions.”

Everything about this ad screams bad, not just the subject matter but the acting the timing the lighting, it could have been done by 8th graders and come out better. I agree with CBS on this one

According to The Hollywood Reporter, sources claim the network believes the site is using the controversial ad as a stunt to generate the free publicity that often comes with banned ads.

and I even think the actors are straight, watch how they so fake the kissing part

Your PETA pie in the face

This has been a busy week for the eco terrorist at Peta. First one guy lights himself on fire and dies a horrible and painful death to stop the sell of furs at a Portland store. and then A Peta member gets arrested for throwing pie in the face of a Canadian minister, and now Peta gets a little pie in their own face… And for good measure I have this recipe.

Flipper pie is a Canadian dish made from seal flippers. It is specific to Newfoundland and commonly eaten at Easter.

The tender meat of the seal flipper, carrots & turnip are blended in a thick gravy, topped with a biscuit crust.

Flipper pie is not an everyday meal...but it does make a nice Sunday dinner, or a special occasion meal. The meat is dark, oily and gamey. The flavour is similar to that of hare, but it is much richer and denser in texture.

Newfoundland Flipper Pie

Seal-Flipper-Pie-1

2 seal flippers
1 small turnip, cubed
3 carrots , sliced
2 onions, sliced
1 parsnip, sliced
2 ½ cups water
1 ½ oz screech
½ fat back pork
2 tbsp vinegar

DUMPLING PASTRY:
1 ½ cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
small pat of butter

Can you find another outrage please

Why must you make up a reason to be outraged at this?

IN30_STAMPS_20519e

A stamp to honor the life and work of Mother Teresa.

why should Mother Teresa be so honored? America's disproportionately powerful Roman Catholic influence undoubtedly accounts for this turn of events. Mother Teresa is on the fast-track to sainthood and the Catholic Church is pulling out all the stops to beatify one of their own.

Note: I never knew being on a US Postage stamp was a step to Sainthood.

It is because in your efforts to drive all  discussion of God from the American dialog you have to disparage any good that may come.

Fail

Betts (from the post office) said that despite the Foundation's accusations and letter-writing campaign, "The response to Mother Teresa has been overwhelmingly in favor of this stamp."

He said the Mother Teresa stamp, like other stamp subjects, will "stand the test of time, reflect the cultural diversity of our nation and have broad national appeal."

The thrill is gone

With great fanfare a taxpayer funded bronze statue of our President as a young boy was unveiled in Jakarta Indonesia. A short walk for the madrassa where he studied for the four year he lived there with his stepfather.

n201333563545_9701

"Barack Obama has yet to make a significant contribution to the Indonesian nation. We could say Obama only ate and s (expletive) in Menteng. He spent his subsequent days living as an American," the web page says.

Note: The term “madrassa” has many spellings (I checked) and means simply “Public School”  In the west it has come to be associated with terrorism. From CNN,

Obama lived in Indonesia as a child, from 1967 to 1971, with his mother and stepfather and has acknowledged attending a Muslim school, but an aide said it was not a madrassa.

She was thrust into the limelight in 2001 when she won a national songwriting competition run by an influential national alternative radio network while still in high school. Instead of capitalizing on the moment, she chose to backpack around Europe before returning home and releasing an eponymous EP that topped the indie charts in late 2003.

Money for Nothing

The new mayor of Seattle wants to add 241,000,000$ in new taxes to replace the sea wall on Seattle’s Water Front.

July 11th 062

Sounds like a good ideal, we need the sea wall to protect the buildings and Lives of the people who live and work in the area. The problem is that a new sea wall is already paid for and will be built when the Alaska Way Viaduct is replaced with a new deep bore tunnel. On the 5 o’clock news they even used the same earthquake animation video they made to sell us the tunnel.

It this a stop gap? (6 years if we wait for the tunnel verses 4 years with the new tax.) I don’t think so…

Douglas Hines, founder of Lincoln Park, N.J.-based True Companion LLC, said Roxxxy can carry on simple conversations. The real aim, he said, is to make the doll someone the owner can talk to and relate to.

"Sex only goes so far — then you want to be able to talk to the person," Hines said.
