A creative approach to redistribution

Here is a creative approach to redistribution of wealth as offered in a local newspaper...

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed.

Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference--just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.

Taken from a MySpace page, the same one I got the balloon picture.

A test?

balloonsNorth Korea's military warned Tuesday it would attack South Korea and turn it into "debris," in Pyongyang's latest response to what it says are confrontational activities by Seoul against the communist country.

What evil thing would provoke this response?

North Korea has demanded that South Korea stop activists from sending balloons carrying leaflets critical of the communist regime across the border,

Ah yes many wars have been fought over propaganda balloons.

Don't worry too much about these boisterous words from the North, has South Korean Defense Minister Lee Sang-hee  says,

"If we show him too much attention, then we might spoil him."

Great music for you

Watch this performance by Missy Higgins from Australia. I been listening to her for years and love every minute of it. You can download the music if you like.

Missy Higgins Missy Higgins - You’d think that a talented seven-time ARIA winner (Australia’s answer to the GRAMMY’s) who also happens to be stunningly beautiful would have made a bigger splash stateside. So do we, which is why we can’t figure out why more people don’t know about Missy Higgins. Fans of singer-songwriters like Sarah McLachlan and Shawn Colvin need to check out Missy’s folksy pop tunes pronto—and our exclusive live session with her is a great place to start! Watch Missy’s intimate solo performances of her hits “Going North,” “Secret,” and “The Wrong Girl.”

The way The TRUTH the OBAMA

obama03 I've noted the messianic tone supporters have assigned to Obama yet this one is almost blasphemy

Speaking of truth, for Obama, the truth is that the constitution is a "document of negative rights".

And uh, to that extent, as radical as I think people tried to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution — at least as it’s been interpreted, and Warren Court interpreted it in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties: [It] says what the states can’t do to you, says what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf.

Dino came to Everett to a good size crowd of well wishers and a few trouble makers.

The people who decry the lost of civility in politics are the same ones who make music videos like this.

And to remind you why this video is so wrong. Watch this.

Vintage Fashion Show

I fell in LOVE with this woman the first time I saw her. She has great taste in music and clothe and she looks good dancing with her clothes on.

You can buy anything she wares on e-bay.

The pigeon with invisible strings

So I guess we'll need to launch a rescue mission.

t One of the pigeons was caught near a rose water production plant in the city of Kashan in Isfahan province (Iran), the report cited an unnamed informed source as saying, adding that some metal rings and invisible strings were attached to the bird. "Early this month, a black pigeon was caught bearing a blue-coated metal ring, with invisible strings," the source was quoted as saying of the second pigeon. The source gave no further description of the pigeons, neither their current status nor what their fate will be.

Update: I found this video of one of our brave spy pigeons fighting with his Iranian guards.

Need a laugh?

Then watch the first video from this post at HotAir.com

I would avoid the second if possible, if you do you may find that Obama is not has glorious has we've been lead to believe. Don't lose Hope, remember the MSM will do everything it can to help rekindle your faith in "The One"

Note: The video of the Obama performance at the Alfred E Smith dinner at HotAir.com didn't work so I got another from YouTube. Haven't had time to watch it yet, Gotta get ready for work.

For a commercial?

I guess it's true, I guess Obama is a "Lightworker" I guess that thousands of baseball fans are going to have to wait just a little bit longer to see Game 6.

the-light-worker "Fox will accommodate Senator Obama's desire to communicate with voters in this longform format," Fox Sports said in a statement. "We are pleased that Major League Baseball has agreed to delay the first pitch of World Series Game 6 for a few minutes in order for Fox to carry his program on Oct. 29. If requested, the network would be willing to make similar time available to Senator McCain's campaign."

Only a being of great power could move the World Series.

Did I mention I hate infomercials?

The campaign has deals with CBS and NBC to run the special, while Fox will also air it if the network is not broadcasting a baseball World Series game that day, Obama senior adviser Linda Douglass said.

Oh and the above article needs a correction.

Obama, who faces Republican John McCain in the November 4 election, has outstripped his rival in fundraising, bolstered by his decision broken promise not to take public funds and thereby avoiding federal spending limits.

A letter from President Starky

Well that is what I was reminded of when I heard the guy reading this letter from Obama in this video.

I hope I got the name right, I haven't see "The Postman" in a long time.

Table Turning

Turn about is fair play, let's just hope we don't have to turn too far left.

This is surely small of me, but if Obama wins, I plan on giving him as much of a chance as the Democrats gave George Bush. I will gleefully forward every paranoid anti-Obama rumor that I see, along with YouTube footage of his verbal missteps. I will laugh and email heinous anti-Obama photoshop jobs, and maybe even learn photoshop myself to create some. I'll buy anti-Obama books, and maybe even a "Not My President" t-shirt. I'm sure that the mainstream bookstores won't carry them, but I'll be on the lookout for anti-Obama calendars and stuff like that. I will not wish America harm, and if the country is hurt (economically, militarily, or diplomatically) I will truly mourn. But i will also take some solace that it occurred under Obama's watch, and will find every reason to blame him personally and fan the flames.

Obama's thuggish behavior thus far in this election cycle - squashing free speech, declaring any criticism of his policies to be "racist" (a word that happily carries little weight with sensible people these days), associating with the likes of Ayers, Wright, and ACORN - suggests that I won't have to scrape for reasons to really viscerally dislike Obama and his administration. And even if he wins, his campaign's "get out the vote fraud" activities are enough to provide people like me with a large degree of "plausible deniability" as to whether he is actually legitimately the president.

I've seen a President that I am generally-inclined to like get crapped on for eight years, and I've seen McCain and Palin (honorable people both, despite policy differences I may have with them) get crapped on through this election season. If the Democrats think that a President Obama is going to get some sort of honeymoon from the folks who didn't vote for him, as a wise man once said: heh.

But the most valuable words are these.

And perhaps we'll learn the lesson you tried to teach in the run-up to the Patriot Act - Don't give John Ashcroft any power you wouldn't want to see Janet Reno wielding.

Kids For Obama: The Movie

The sights and sounds and a little entertainment from The Grassroots Kids for Obama March in Greenlake Park.

Turns out I wasn't the only right wing blogger there.

I stopped to ask a woman about her sign, she said "Look it up" she also took pictures. She was very apolitical, I think she wanted it that way.

Here is the view from the otherside. and in comments

How anyone could put a negative spin on this is beyond me. These kids were holding signs that said things like "HOPE" and "Pro-Family" It was such a diverse group of people and it was a positive atmosphere.

What is most important, I think, is that it inspired conversations with my kids about what I want for them, for their future. And that, as they grow, we may not always agree on things, but they should always speak their minds, remain curious, learn, discuss, grow. What more could any of us want for their children?

It wasn't mindless following, it was quite the opposite for our family...that is for anyone who was open to the message...

Yet another Flickr set And guess who got in the shot.
