So it seems someone (Trust For Public Lands) wants to by the land around the famous HOLLYWOOD sign to protect it from developers. They have $6,000,000.00 and got the option to buy it for $12,000,000.00 and have till April to raise the rest. On Thursday they plan to cover the letters to read "Save the Peak." for a day.
(Will) Rogers said he's confident it can raise the rest before the option expires in mid-April. If not, it goes back on the market.
There's always a concern when you have a deadline," Rogers said. "I'm optimistic, but there's always that chance."
Local Police have sent notices to residents.
According to the Times, the LAPD issued the e-mail so the department does "not receive phone calls from worried citizens.”
I however like the ideal proposed in an anonymous comment best
It should be replaced with a George W. Bush "Miss Me Yet?" Billboard!
