When only one person comes to your campaign event. Al Franklen had a campaign event at a restaurant, kind of a show up and talk with supporters event. I don't think they wanted more than 30 or 40 people, but I'm sure they wanted more than 1.
Josh John, a St. Cloud resident who said he served in the Navy from 2000-04, had Franken to himself for an hour as he described difficulties he faced returning from his tour of duty and the help he received from his Veterans Services Office and the St. Cloud VA Medical Center.
The topic was the VA, often used has a guilt hammer by the anti-war left, its a lie, but they use it every chance they get. It looks like that isn't flying anymore. You would think that Franken's SNL fame, what many thought would assure his win, and fans of his radio show would draw more people. Well only 5 people listened to his show.
There’s an old saying in politics that elections are won or lost one vote at a time. On Friday, ...snip... U.S. Senate candidate Al Franken demonstrated how true that saying can be, when a roundtable on veterans issues at Brigitte’s Cafe his campaign scheduled drew only one participant.
