A horrific Crime, Why no Outcry?

The Crime

A white man holding a directorship at a very prominent University raped his 5 year old adopted minority child and offered up this child to other pedophiles. He used the screen name “Perv Dad for fun” that caught the eye of the FBI.

Why no outcry?

The University is Duke, Famous for the Rape case that cost the career of  the Durham County DA Mike Nifong. The Man is the associate director of Duke's Center for Health Policy, An Aids researcher, and adoptive gay father of two young boys. The reports says that he took steps to hide his activity from his partner but, as in most similar cases with straight couples, to hide abuse like this a bit of willful ignorance is required.

Here we have a man who is respected, trusted, and held up as an upstanding member of the community (note I did not use the word “gay”) yet the media reports on who gets to be executor of the Jackson estate.

Obama marked Down

At Big Lots,

I saw this over the weekend but It wasn’t till It was posted on Knowledge is Power that I decided to go and take a picture of the Display, turns out that they had removed the Display. When I ask about the Obama Plates some older lady asked me why in a way that made me laugh and it was all I could do to keep from falling on the floor kicking and wailing.

The store had taken the display down but they still had them in the back, I could not ask her to get me one without buying it, so when I brought it home I took a few pictures then I had some fun with it :)>

I do not hate my job

Sure it could be a bit less stressful and pay a bit more but you’ll never hear me complain like this guy does.

Children of Pride

The Seattle Gay Pride celebrations are this weekend so I don’t mind Macy’s doing a window to acknowledge this,

June 20th 035

what I did mind was the children in the displays.

June 20th 038 June 20th 039 June 20th 040

June 20th 041 June 20th 042 June 20th 043

June 20th 044 June 20th 036 June 20th 037

You can make up your own mind what that makes me.

Updates: I’ve discovered this had been brought up before, Macy’s pulled the display in another city but later apologized for doing so. They called it a mistake.

I am not really sure how the Gay Pride events are scheduled so I changed the first line of my post to reflect a weekend event rather than a one day event.

Somewhere: Jewel makes the Angels jealous

Today I brought Jewel’s new Lullaby CD. It is a magical collection, nothing less than spectacular. I’ve already included the video for Raven here. Also on this CD is her cover of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, a beautiful song wonderfully performed. Here is a YouTube clip of her 1995 performance from the TNT special "The Wizard of Oz in Concert: Dreams Come True”. If you’ve never seen it prepare to be blown away…

Just a note: The woman at the start of this video is Lucie Arnaz

Anti-Israel Protest: Nobody Showed up

Maybe it was just that there was too much going on, but this week only one person showed up to protest Israel. She left after only 30 minutes but we did have a nice friendly chat, I’ve stood across from her at both these events and at many anti-war protests, She is a part of the “Everett Peace Action” group that faces off with the “Evergreen Troop Support Group” Every Friday.

What we had instead was a different kind of  confrontation.

Where two very different messages where being presented by two groups who both warn of coming judgment. One offers hope for all, and the other only for the few who were lucky enough to be born into the right “nationhood”..

Both message were drowned out however in the chaos.

Ronald Drives an Element

Last month I introduced you his sister, today I found out what kind of car he drives.

Ronald McDonald came to Everett today. I noticed him quite by accident and just had to get a few pictures.

F*** Back

The Left likes to parade on the High Ground when it come to defending women, but only if you tow the line. We have the story of Carrie Prejean who gave a political statement (one held by most American, and so proven by many elections) that did not fit into the  left’s mold. For that she was call a B*tch and later a **nt. The feminist did not defend her, the best they could do was say they stand for fairness but Carrie doesn’t.

Now Playboy has a list of conservative woman who they “disagree with” but would like to “sleep with” the article title use the words “Hate F*ck”. Do we have feminist standing up to defend the woman on this rape hit list? The best we got was “Well not everybody on this list belongs there.” By the way, Playboy pulled the story from the net, quickly.

So now for the list of liberal woman I’d like to… meet.

Arianna Huffington I liked her when she used to be a conservative. She turned (returned I later learned) left after her rich conservative husband past away.

Jane Hamsher of Firedoglake .Seen her on TV a couple of times, thought she was cute.

Ana Marie Cox from wonkkett. I thought she was hot from day 1, not so much now.
