Rally to bash the Teaparty

They called it the “Rally to Restore Sanity” but after this event I think they lost the high ground.

What wasn’t nonsense was anti-Right anti-Teaparty and anti-Fox news.

First the nonsense….

IMG_3821 IMG_3822 IMG_3824 IMG_3842 IMG_3848 IMG_3849 IMG_3878 IMG_3885

The anti-Teaparty

IMG_3840 IMG_3871 IMG_3972 IMG_3986 IMG_3997 IMG_4019 IMG_4038 IMG_4056 IMG_4064 IMG_4086 IMG_4101 IMG_4117 IMG_4121IMG_4065

and the anti-Fox news

IMG_4199 IMG_3908 IMG_3951 IMG_3971 IMG_3974 IMG_3983 IMG_4042 IMG_4045 IMG_4062 IMG_4189

I have to admit some of it was funny, once you got past all the hate (see above). Some of it was cool

but mostly it was a rally not about sanity but rather about the bashing of conservatives though a series of standup comedy routines and poorly veiled references to things like “Witches” and “Crazy” and “tea”. No hearts were changed, no fences were mended.

Working on the Videos, Pictures are on Flickr.

Update: I’ve got 2 videos, about 15 minutes.

Let it go already

So 125 years ago (Nov 2nd 1885) maybe as many as 200 Chinese resident of Tacoma Washington were forced from their homes.

On October 30th, 2010, just four days before the 125th anniversary of the expulsion, the city of Tacoma will hold a symbolic "Walk for Reconciliation" in an effort to recognize, acknowledge, and move on from the tragic act of injustice in 1885.

I think most people have found a way to heal after this national tragedy.

Pre-Rally expectations

In just a few hours I am going to attend the Seattle “Rally to restore Sanity” @ Westlake Park they are expecting 5,000 people to attend an event that has no discernable agenda, no cause, and no headliners. I think 500 will actually put down the bong long enough to show up, that is if they can wake up before 9 am on a Saturday.

The best description of the DC event I found… (and the reason I made this post)

The Left sees this as a mockery of Beck’s rally and the Tea-Party rallies. I doubt if any of them will realize it until months or years down the road, it is the Left who are being mocked…by both Sterwart and Colbert.

The expectation of another Woodstock is ludicrous. (Will Ludacris even be there?)

And the range of “groups” going to DC for tomorrow’s rally are the usual suspects…each with a loud obnoxious voice, each with their own agenda, each vying of air time to get their own particular message out…in other words, fragmented, severely fragmented.

What are they going to do…shout “Down with Bush!”? Demand the Bush get us out of Iraq? Afghanistan? What’s going to unite them? Protesting that the majority of Americans are the enemy? Telling the Nation that individual freedom is lame? Letting the Unions and the Nanny State make all your decisions for you?

That sort of stuff is certainly going to tug at the heartstrings of the majority of Americans who have no tolerance anymore for the antics of the Left, this Congress, this President, right?

When the Vietnam war ended, the entire Left had a major shock to its system. No longer united, no longer able to tack on to the coattails of the anti-war movement, all the “others” on the Left found themselves very much alone. The Black Panthers and SNC had no time for the tree-huggers, and it was nearly impossible for those suburban kids and those from the high-end neighborhoods to find common cause with the poor-end of the movement. The “war” was over…and the anti-war folks for the most part moved on. This is how we ended up with the 70′s and Disco and all the other hedonistic trappings of that age.

So, rock on dudes…the weather in DC is going to be in the upper 50′s with mostly sunny skies.

Tuesday, however…a sea change is going to hit the United States. Hope ya are ready for it.

I expect to hear a lot of talk about the Teaparty, Repugs Rethuglicans I mean Republicans, and Christians. I do not expect to hear any talk about compromise or unity, or anything that does not involve complete surrender to the liberal agenda.

From the Seattle Weekly…

The satellite "Rally to Restore Sanity Seattle" event won't have Jon Stewart there or Jeff Tweedy from Wilco or Mavis Staples the famous soul singer, but the Seattle Parks and Recreation Department still thinks that thousands of fanatically moderate sanity seekers will show up at Westlake Park, despite the forecasted rain and the 9 am early start time.

Quote of the day

Some scientist  believe that there is no God and to prove it they look for the natural order of things.

I think the fact that they found it proves God exist.

Don’t piss off the artist

Especially if you are the canvas

The 25-year-old victim had been visiting the man, an amateur tattooist, at his home in Bundamba last Wednesday when he was talked into getting a tattoo.

He wanted a yin and yang symbol with some dragons, but was instead shocked to discover the 40cm tattoo was of a penis with an obscene slogan.

The key word in the slogan was also misspelled.

And for good measure

The victim has also alleged he was punched and thrown out of the house following the tattooing.

here is a better report..

“When he got home he showed it to the person he lives with and she said: 'I don't think it's the tattoo you were after'."

Hello, is this the Time travel Agency?

why am I in Hollywood dressed for a New York winter?

It appears like someone is talking on a cell phone in 1928, The footage is real (part of a Charley Chaplin box set)

Longer video from some guy who explains how he found the footage.

Is this legal?

I'm sure a husband can fill it out for his wife, but can you solicit blank ballots?

We have a leftie blogger in Washington asking for readers to sign their ballots and send them to him to fill out.

I sent an e-mail to the Secretary of State, I’ll let you know if I get an answer.

Update: Director of Elections Replies (my original e-mail included)

Blatherwatch whines.

Dear Mr. Bentley,

Your email was referred to me asking whether a blogger was violating the law by asking readers to send him blank signed ballots.

First, I hope this blogger was not serious in his request.  For your information, our office has requested that he cease this practice. (emphasis mine)

The operative statute is

RCW 29A.84.610  Deceptive, incorrect vote recording.

A person is guilty of a gross misdemeanor who knowingly:

(1) Deceives any voter in recording his or her vote by providing incorrect or misleading recording information or by providing faulty election equipment or records; or

(2) Records the vote of any voter in a manner other than as designated by the voter.

Such a gross misdemeanor is punishable to the same extent as a gross misdemeanor that is punishable under RCW 9A.20.021

Thus, the violation of law occurs where someone records a vote for another person other than as designated by that voter.

Obviously, each of these situations involves questions of fact and the final solution will turn on exactly what happens.  But, this is the provision of law that will control these situations.

This office takes very seriously any situations involving undue influence in the voting process.

Thank you for calling this to our attention.  I hope this is helpful.

Subject: Question; Other people filling out my ballot

Hello I saw on a blog ( where he was requesting that readers sign and send him their blank ballots. I do not know if this is legal and did not see any thing on you website to say one way or the other, could you let me know?

thank you

So it appears that if the voters sent their ballots to him saying how they wanted him to vote for them it would be ok, just assuming they want him to vote one way is not.

Who could have seen this coming?

A writer for a pot magazine busted for selling pot.

Cops busted a writer for marijuana magazine High Times along with 45 other people, including a man behind a major hip-hop label, for allegedly operating a multi-million dollar pot ring.

Going to need another lesson

Well I guess some people are just slow learners.

A 19-year-old woman is accused of stabbing another woman at an anger management class at Bellevue College.

Not a woman you want to ask out for dinner and a movie…

The victim told police the 19-year-old complained about a video they were watching Saturday.

Police say the 19-year-old came from two rows behind the victim to stab her.

Eve of battle peep talk?

Throughout history Kings, Generals, and other various leaders have made an effort to talk to the troops on the eve of the faithful day, Could it be that Ahmadinejad is in Lebanon to give Hezbollah a least minute “go get ‘em boys” speech?

Or could he be looking for that one last poke in the eye of Israel before he scurries off to play with his “peaceful” centrifuges?

Laughing at 150 wet communist

Ok I can scratch that one off my bucket list…

ANSWER marked the 9 anniversary of the war in Afghanistan with another lame, poorly attended rally and march thru downtown Seattle.

Did I mention it was raining?

That didn’t stop the die hard communist and America haters from showing up, Good thing there are only a few of them left.

This year they have a new hero Bradley Manning, the traitor who leaked information on our operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and other Areas of operations in the War on terror. Leaks that revealed the sources of some of our intel resulting in the loss of Afghani lives and details of our planning and other activities resulting in increased risk to US/NATO lives.

turnout was sparse, I guessed about 150. It represents the core of Seattle's anti-America movement and they did not hold back…

IMG_3486 IMG_3508 IMG_3537

The guy in the Che shirt actually said to “End the occupation of North America”
