Raw Video; Bush Effigy Burning in Seattle, Fail

An Attempt to Burn a Bush Cutout after today's A.N.S.W.E.R.rally fails. What was meant to be a statement on the war turns out to be a better statement on the dying of the anti-war movement.

I’m working on a full posting of today’s event but thought this was worthy of a special rush posting.

Update: Full post for Sunday’s rally is now up

War Anniversary protests:From 1000s to 100s to 10s

6 years ago thousands of people showed up to protest the war, it was planned to “stop” the war but it came 2 days late, Then on or about the 19th of March every year we’ve had smaller and smaller rallies till last year when just a few hundred showed up

march 2003 revolution books march 2007 march 2008

With this trend the 6th anniversary for the war in Iraq did not go well for the extremist at World Can't Wait. Oh they tried to put a brave face on it and all, but the pictures don’t lie, no one came. No one cared.

I arrived early to get an ideal of what I had to deal with, I could tell right away it was going to be a good day.

I went to the 3rd floor of Westlake Center to get a few shots from there when I stumbled upon the communist having their pre-rally planning meeting.

They gave me some harsh words, I should have taken their pictures, but I just let them take mine.

Back on the ground the commies set up shop.

People trickled in about 11:50

Ok now it’s time to start the rally.

My “friends” from the Anti-Israel rallies showed up and swelled the numbers for the protest to almost 40.

What did that tree ever do to them? Well to be fair a few shoes were close to the Federal Building.

We had another march, to Pike Place Market

Then we had tourists who wanted to pose with my flag.

Over all a very disappointing day for the anti-war crowd, I couldn’t be happier. There is another one planned for Sunday by A.N.S.W.E.R. Let’s see if it fairs any better.

Video to come.

Update: I added an opening paragraph to better explain the post title and added some photos to help illustrate the point

P.S. The video is delayed due to technical difficulties.

Update to my P.S. From the looks of thing I’ll be able to finish it before a leave but not have time to wait for it to upload and embed it here, so if you want to see it before I comeback visit my YouTube page.

The Prompter behind the man

TOTUS The running joke these days has been…

Q; Who is running the nation?

A; Obama’s Teleprompter.”

Well now you can get the scoop straight from the 1st teleprompter to lead America.

“Well, last night didn't go well. What can I say? I was tired. By the time Barack and the Irish PM stood up, the President and I had already done two major policy speeches, three nomination announcements, and light dinner banter for a table of twelve. And by the way, that "ad lib" last night about Guinness? Mine.”

Woops they did it again

The P.C. crowd in Europe once again oversteps the bounds of reality in their efforts to impose a man-made synthetic morality on the people they serve.

Using 'Miss' and 'Mrs' has been banned by leaders of the European Union because they are not considered politically correct. Brussels bureaucrats have decided the words are sexist and issued new guidelines in its bid to create 'gender-neutral' language

This is not the first time I’ve heard of this attempt to push gender neutrality on the world, But why? This is from 1997,

It is important to recognize that our beliefs and perceptions about gender influence our attitudes about nature, and that most languages of the world gender the elements of nature, granting symbolic representation through the VALUES language represents. Because language represents the cultural values of the people who use it, we benefit by being conscious users of the language we have inherited. It benefits us to ask ourselves how we feel about our terminology, rather than simply accepting inherited belief systems without question, and then reflecting that acceptance through our continued use of language that perhaps we do not believe in.

There it is, in bold italic blockquotes, this is a deliberate attempt to undermine our culture.

This is the first time I’ve seen it go in a rule book where it can have the force to compel. Yet still some in the EU still have the courage to resist.

Scottish Tory MEP Struan Stevenson described the guidelines as 'political correctness gone mad'.

He said: 'This is frankly ludicrous. We've seen the EU institutions try to ban the bagpipes and dictate the shape of bananas, but now they seem determined to tell us which words we are entitled to use in our own language. 'Gender-neutrality is really the last straw. The Thought Police are now on the rampage in the European Parliament. 'We will soon be told that the use of the words "man" or "woman" has been banned in case it causes offence to those who consider 'gender neutrality' an essential part of life.'

St.Pats Day and Gaza protest 186

Walking around Seattle after the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade I spotted this rare sight of nature in the heart of the big city. I made a set on flickr for this.

Anti-Israel Protest, with parade

This weeks protest came with an added bonus, The Saint Patrick’s day Parade. Yes I know its early, I didn’t make the schedule I just take the pictures. We also had a surprise visit from World Can’t Wait 4 of them came to promote the upcoming Iraq War Anniversary protest next weekend. Be sure to check back for that report.

I wanted to leave home early to avoid predicted heavy traffic due to highway construction. I took an alternate route and got to Seattle at 11:35 enough time to get an ideal of how the two events would pan out and take in a few sights.

A small gathering of protesters arrive.

And the group never really gets going. A few feeble attempts to chants then the “Youths” go home.

The World Can’t Wait commies made an appearance. They always make it a show, but I was hoping for some waterboarding.
