Three days after the 6th anniversary of the Iraq war A.N.S.W.E.R. held their rally to mark the occasion in Seattle’s Cal Anderson park
Somewhere between 150 and 200 people showed up, (because it was not over 200 I can still use the “10s” description I used to deride the World Can’t Wait protest Saturday) I do not know why they waited until Sunday to have this rally, maybe the permit for the march was cheaper? The meat of this event is in the videos so make sure to watch it. Now lets get started…
I arrived right at 12:00, the “start” time.
But I didn’t need to feel bad for being late, there were many late comers.
The start of the rally was also about 30 minutes late.
here are a few of the pre-march sights.
Yes it’s true, I was not the only one yawning.
Now lets wake up and get a marching…
They took a twisted route a that passed by the Jimmy Hendrix Statue and even my car.
The march seemed to have 4 separate groups within it, We have the Answer group…
we had the socialist (the ones that will tell you they are communist)
We had the Canadians
And we had the anti-war vets and war resister, ok so I didn’t get a lot of pics these guys, they stayed in the back, it’s not my fault.
All gathered in one little march
The video will show just how these groups (and the anti-war movement in general) seem to be unable to get a single message out.
Now for some random shots then the movie.
I titled the movie “The Little March of Discord” because I think it shows a level of disorganization and desperation in the anti-war movement I have not seen before, This group was not just the smallest march for the anniversary of the war, it was the most defeated I’ve seen them, We’ve won in Iraq, Afghanistan is getting the attention that it has needed to get for years and that will lead to victory there too and they know it. The fight is not over, the left has made some dangerous move in the last two months, but on this front at least we hold the high ground and they know it.
And don’t forget to watch their failure as they try to burn Former President Bush in effigy.
