Scum takes away one of the good ones

A Salvation Army worker was shot and killed Christmas Eve in front of his three young children by a man who attempted to rob him outside the charity's community center in North Little Rock, a Salvation Army

This man most likely would have given more than the thieves could have taken had they made any effort towards improving their lives. Now 3 young children rescued from a bad situation just a year ago face a new challenge, a loving wife  left to bring these children thru this while struggling with her own loss. And two men who abandoned their own lives to drug or alcohol or just plain madness discarded any chance to return to society for the hope of getting a few dollars they didn’t earn.

Merry Christmas

Last year a war started

An unprovoked war was announced one year ago today by the aggressors in that war. It really wasn’t the start of the war, cross border raids and bombing had been going on for decades. One side had even been forced to withdraw civilians because they could no longer protect them years ago. yet the war continued. then one year ago to day Hamas announced operation “Oil Stain”

The military wing affiliated to Hamas, Al-Qassam Brigades released a statement on Thursday morning briefing the group's military activities over the first twenty four hours of an operation they called "Oil Stain" which started Wednesday morning

According to the statement, a total of 87 shells have been fired at Israeli targets bordering the Gaza Strip including 54 mortar shells, 31 homemade projectiles which Hamas calls "Qassam", and two Soviet-made Grad missiles.

Reminder: 31 Un-aimed rockets fired into towns would be considered a war crime if Israel did it.

When Operation Cast Lead began just 2 days later the world rallied to defend the victimsHamas?

Gaza’s tunnel rats

The far left “rights group” B’Tselem has an essay by a 17 year old boy living in Rafah. Young Imad is working to support his family, 10 in all, in the smuggling tunnels running under the Egyptian Border.

Lets break out the tiny violin for this teenage weapon smuggler

images

Everything comes in through the tunnels: biscuits, chocolate, refrigerators, washing machines, stoves, kitchen utensils, cigarettes, sheep, cattle, milk, clothes, wood, aluminum, auto spare parts, lighting products, electronic equipment, cheese, boxes of candies, air-conditioners, pipes, plastics, and other things. Cement also comes in through the tunnels, but not in large quantities because it is heavy and hard to move. The cement is poor quality and suitable only for repairs and renovation work.

The tunnels are there to get weapons past the boarder, the Qassam rockets are made from smuggled parts, they are used to attack civilian targets, this child is engaged in an action that is a war crime.

Here are some pictures of stuff not smuggled in the tunnels from Elder of Zion.

When the tunnel collapses during the day, the Egyptian soldiers can catch me and degrade and beat me. About a year ago, they caught me when the tunnel collapsed and I got out on the Egyptian side. They jailed me for a few days and treated me poorly, even though I was young.

He should know he’s done this for more than 2 years.

The Israeli planes bomb the tunnels every time a rocket is fired from the area at Israel. The bombs destroy the tunnels and kill and injure people working in them. Lots of times, the Egyptians tell the National Security forces, which belong to Hamas, that a bombing attack is expected. We get out and then go back to work after the bombing. Sometimes, they bomb the tunnel and a few hours later, after the workers have gone back to work, bomb again, and there are dead or injured.

So Israel tells Egypt they need to act and Egypt tells Hamas. Welcome to warfare in the “enlightened age” ever wonder why there are no more short wars?

The Crisis of my life time

Two covers from Time Magazine covering the crisis of global cooling when I was growing up 1979 and 1977. I was 15 and 17 I remember this well

time_cooling1 time_cooling2

It seems all of the pollution that the car and factories were putting out were somehow reflecting the suns rays back into space and we were going to all freeze. The science was settled and we had to act now or it would be too late.

I think someone wants to scare us into new taxes.

That and how we will never win the cold war

Inside the Greenhouse: Fail

If a picture was needed to describe failure this would be the one you would use…

copensnoglobe

The world covered in snow while leaders inside fail to reach agreement to prevent Global Warming.

And just one more example of Obama’s “Smart Power”

The lacklustre speech proved a huge frustration to a summit that had been looking to Obama to use his stature on the world stage – and his special following among African leaders – to try to come to an ambitious deal.

The King of Horror has a heart

Steven King is giving 12,999+1$ to help Maine's National Guard troops get home for Christmas

King and his wife, Tabitha, who live in Bangor, are paying $13,000 toward the cost of two bus trips so that members of the 3rd Battalion, 172nd Infantry Unit can travel from Camp Atterbury in Indiana to Maine for Christmas. The soldiers left Maine last week for training at Camp Atterbury. They are scheduled to depart for Afghanistan in January.

So why the 12,999+1?

But Stephen King thought the number 13 was a bit unlucky, so the couple pitched in $12,999 instead. Eugley (one of King's personal assistants) chipped in $1 to make for an even $13,000.

I read everything I could get from him in the 80’s but then his writing became too much like a book mill, it seemed he was just writing for the dollar and they weren’t fun to read anymore. May be after I’m finished with the Sword of Truth series I’ll pick up one of his and see if he snapped out of it.

A Good Wife:

Jack and Frances are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
Jack says to Frances, "Frances, I was wondering ... have you ever cheated on me?"
Frances replies, "Oh Jack, why would you ask such a question now? You don't want to ask that question."
"Yes, Frances, I really want to know. Please..."
"Well, all right. Yes, 3 times..."
"Three? Well, when were they?" he asked.
"Well, Jack, remember when you were 35 years old, and you really wanted to start the business on your own, and no bank would give you a loan? Remember, then one day the bank president himself came over the house and signed the loan papers, no questions asked?"

"Oh, Frances, you did that for me! I respect you even more than ever, to do such a thing for me. So, when was number two?"

"Well, Jack, remember when you had that last heart attack, and you were needing that very tricky operation, and no surgeon would touch you? Then remember how Dr. DeBakey came all the way up here, to do the surgery himself, and then you were in good shape again?"

"I can't believe it Frances, that you should do such a thing for me, to save my life. I couldn't have a more wonderful wife. To do such a thing, you must really love me darling. I couldn't be more moved."

" So, all right then, when was number three?"

"Well, Jack, remember a few years ago, when you really wanted to be president of the golf club, but you were 17 votes short..?"

Who knew?

That the “mile high club” was one you could be born into.

Flight 441 was about 100 miles north of Denver Friday when the unidentified woman went into labor. Flaningan says the captain decided to divert to Denver but she started to deliver the baby en route.

I have a special place in my heart for Southwest Airlines. My mom used to work for the company that did the maintenance on their planes and my best friend’s sister has worked for them like forever.
