And the game goes on

Here is another post trying to place the blame for today's bombing on a false flag operation, he starts with the 7/7 bombings and build from there,

I never believed the official story.

It is preposterous to assert that within just a few hours the authorities had positively identified four young men out of the millions who use the tube system every day.
All of Europe was full of laughing young people carrying backpacks.
It was absurd for Tony Blair to announce that there would be no official investigation because they needed to concentrate on preventing further incidents.
The whole thing was a lie in the form of a false flag operation.

From there he talks about the events of the last two days
Isn't it perfectly obvious that this operation is meant to trigger our memories of what happened 3 years ago, re-traumatize us, and make us flee into the protective arms of our loving government?

Update: You may have noticed that many of the comments in the first two posts chastise the diarist for their conspiracy theories, yet on the Larry Johnson post many of the comments make the very same points as the diarist from the other two post…

It didn't take long

for the far left to blame today's attack on bush... Not that bush allowed it or that bush knew but that bush did it to get people hyped up in time for the upcoming election. I kid you not. And this is on one of the most widely read left wing blogs on the Internet, not some fringe tinfoil convention hangout.
This story initially reminded me of so many others; it was hard to chose which one fits the mold the closest. You had all the well-timed "terrorist attacks" in Israel leading up to the '04 sElection, you had the war of aggression against Lebanon by Israel leading up to '06 (which backfired, thank god), and for both '06 and '08 you had all these very vague claims of "terrorist" shakedowns and thwarted attacks happening overseas, all shilled by the complicit media. But I think this one's a little differ

Mommy, what's that lion doing to that lamb?

It's not what you think

The practice sees people dressing up in giant teddy bear or other outfits and meeting in woodlands and forests for sex.
Participants – sometimes called 'furverts' – also dress as rabbits, squirrels or cartoon characters.

Bible prophecy fulfilled? "and the lion shall lay down with the lamb"
Please forgive the blasphemy I couldn't resist :)

I've been waiting to see this all day

With the discovery of a car bomb in London and other suspected bombs I had no doubt that some on the left would soon look for ways to minimize the danger or even deflect to blame. The first indications came when I woke this morning and after learning of this I turned to MSNBC and the reader under the reports said "no link to terrorist" (quote from memory, may not be precise) later reports attempted to link IRA and even Russia. For the record, Scotland Yard suspects Al-Qaeda linked groups. The Web post that called on Muslims to rejoice "for London will be bomb" was likely a big clue.

Larry C Johnson At the Daily Kos posted the perfect lefty propaganda form letter post on this event. Let’s break it down please.

step 1 over hype the hype.
CNN anchors hyperventilating over the nuclear suicide car weapon of mass destruction discovered smoldering outside of a London nightclub.

This allows you to further minimize the fear factor this event may have caused. After all we all know that this was not a "nuclear" "weapon of mass destruction" so it can't possibly be as bad as the reports says.

step 2 minimize the truth.
You know what you call a vehicle with 50 gallons of gas? A Cadillac Escalade. The media meltdown over this incident is simply shameful.

Here is a dishonest downplay of the event in that he deliberately leaves out the nails, the propane, the location, and the timing of the attempted attack. This allows the left to again dismiss the threat.

step 3 remove blame
Judging from the overreaction to this non-incident I think we can safely conclude that Osama Bin Laden will remain holed up in Pakistan and let the fear mongers at CNN, MSNBC, and FOX do the dirty business of scaring the shit out of people.

Here we have to fact that the attack must be reported as the true act of terror.

The left for some unknown reason has no wish to face the fact that we are in a WAR with a determined enemy who wishes to kill us all and will not be laid back with concerned with Geneva or human rights or popularity contest.

Update: Has I write this word that a second confirmed car bomb has been found.

The Evil And Cruel Mitt Romney

In a twisted attempt to smear a man with what must be the cleanest past in all of politics Time Magazine had to go back to 1983 and report on this barbaric act of cruelty to animals.
Father deals with minor — but gross — incident during a 1983 family vacation, and saves the day. But the details of the event are more than unseemly — they may, in fact, be illegal.

this was Ann Marie's take on this Boston globe story
Before beginning the drive, Mitt Romney put Seamus, the family's hulking Irish setter, in a dog carrier and attached it to the station wagon's roof rack. He'd built a windshield for the carrier, to make the ride more comfortable for the dog.

This comes on the heels of the bombshell revelation of Romney's great grandfather having 5 wives... Who would of thought that a Mormon in the 1800s would be a polygamist.
Romney's great-grandfather, Miles Park Romney, married his fifth wife in 1897. That was more than six years after Mormon leaders banned polygamy and more than three decades after a federal law barred the practice.

Update: wonkette aka the woman who wrote the hit piece, says that this may have been against the law but that law was not written until 1998. Others also attack Mitt on the legality of his action, always forgetting to mention that the law had not yet written.
"Massachusetts animal cruelty laws specifically prohibit anyone from carrying an animal `in or upon a vehicle, or otherwise, in an unnecessarily cruel or inhuman manner or in a way and manner which might endanger the animal carried thereon,'" wrote Steve Benen in a post on the blog "Crooks and Liars."

Good for the CBC

For those who think that some of the recent terror plots that had been foiled were not a real threat you need to watch "the fifth estate"
AMONG THE BELIEVERS: CRACKING THE TORONTO TERROR CELL
The fifth estate undertakes the analysis of why young Muslims living in western, democratic societies would plot to commit murder in their own backyards whether in the suburbs of Toronto or Atlanta, Georgia or The Netherlands. Among the Believers explores the phenomenon of self-radicalizing violent extremism growing among young Muslims around the world.

Um DUH!!!!

Chavez wants to rule for life...For some this is was a surprise,
"He has been acting increasingly messianic and so he is likely to either get the constitution rewritten to allow for additional terms or eventually declare himself president-for-life."

I don't really hold much faith in these analysis done at a distance, but some things are so obvious that even Jimmy Carter could see them coming.

Update: The Washington post has moved or deleted their photo of President Carter so I've found this one instead.

At 13 Seth died of old age

He lived his life like it was the only one he had. He never let his illness slow him down. So by age 13 he had been a stunt pilot, a sheriff, and an explorer.

Seth Cook, who lived in Darrington and captured hearts all over the world, died Monday at his home with his family around him. He was 13 years old and had recently suffered a heart attack as a consequence of progeria, a rare disorder that causes accelerated aging.

His Illness robbed him of time but not of life.

RED faced movie star

Cameron Diaz went to Peru with a handbag which featured the communist RED star and the words, in Chinese script, "Serve the People" in a land where Maoist fighters killed more that 70,000 people.
"I sincerely apologise to anyone I may have inadvertently offended," Diaz said in a statement. "The bag was a purchase I made as a tourist in China and I did not realise the potentially hurtful nature of the slogan printed on it."

And that may be true but the RED star must of been some kind of a hint.
The voice of Princess Fiona in the animated Shrek films visited the Incan city of Machu Picchu in Peru's Andes wearing an olive green bag emblazoned with a red star and the words "Serve the People", perhaps Chinese Communist leader Mao Zedong's most famous political slogan, printed in Chinese.

And did Mao live up to this slogan? just read my post on Mao

Mao wrote: "I do not agree with the view that to be moral, the motive of one's actions has to be benefiting others. Morality does not have to be defined in relation to others. … People like me want to … satisfy our hearts to the full, and in doing so we automatically have the most valuable moral codes. Of course there are people and objects in the world, but they are all there only for me. … People like me only have a duty to ourselves; we have no duty to other people."

I would like to take one of my old film photographs and post one here every week but I know I would never keep such a promise so I will only say I'll try.

What they said

This is a 3rd generation post, a post on a post on a post... at hot air they posted two videos on the far left's defense of the attacks by the radical islamist. Some would have you think that avoiding offending people is not the same as enabling their murderous destructive behavior, others like Theocritus at Jessica's Well explain it so fully you could walk out with a degree in anti-leftism.

Not a threat

Well that is what the left would like you to think, however Iran appears to differ on this.
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran has stored 100 kg of enriched uranium material, its interior minister was quoted on Friday as saying, in comments that may worry Western powers who suspect the Islamic Republic of seeking to build nuclear bombs.

But fear not for Reuters in the very next paragraph reports from an senior Iranian nuclear official
But a senior Iranian nuclear official cast doubt on the information. "The figures are not correct," the official, who declined to be named, told Reuters.

What ever the truth it is clear that Iran has no intention of halting their nuke program. So what is it that the "World" is going to do to prevent this hostile terrorist government from getting the means to kill millions?
Iran's Ali Larijani will meet International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohammed ElBaradei on Friday and the EU's Javier Solana on Saturday in what may be a last chance to end the impasse before world powers begin drafting broader sanctions against Iran.

Now there are some that say Iran is not really a threat, that this is all just a ploy to force us to make concessions to Iran, A bluff!! And Reuters feeds into this story line here.
Diplomats and nuclear analysts say roughly 500 kg of low-enriched uranium would be needed as material for one bomb but it would have to be re-introduced into centrifuge machines reconfigured to refine uranium to weapons-grade.
They say such a step would be difficult to hide from U.N. inspectors assigned to the Natanz enrichment plant, where Iran has been expanding a hitherto research-level centrifuge operation in a bid for "industrial-scale" fuel production.

I'm going to take a moment here to point out a little history... remember Pakistan 1998?
According to a preliminary analysis conducted at Los Alamos National Laboratory, material released into the atmosphere during an underground nuclear test by Pakistan in May 1998 contained low levels of weapons-grade plutonium. The significance of the Los Alamos finding was that Pakistan had either imported or produced plutonium undetected by the US intelligence community. But Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and other agencies later contested the accuracy of this finding.
These tests came slightly more than two weeks after India carried out five nuclear tests of its own on May 11 and 13 and after many warnings by Pakistani officials that they would respond to India

Now back to our story;
Instead of freezing all enrichment-related activity, as the Security Council has demanded, Iran has accelerated the program and says it has passed the point of no return.
"When the world saw that the (Iranian) nation is pursuing this goal with unity, the world surrendered, " Pourmohammadi said. "We have passed the dangerous moment."
The Security Council has already imposed two rounds of limited sanctions on Iran over its refusal to shelve enrichment.

Iran builds and the "World" says stop or we will get angry, and Iran builds. The "World" says Iran is not able to build, and Iran builds. The "World" holds talks, they say we must stop Iran, and Iran builds. The "World" says "well maybe Iran is not really building" and Iran builds.
We will soon face a nightmare... the Apocalypse that will herald in the 12th eman and the end of Israel. This is the stated goal of the Iranian military build up, do you really have any doubts?

Update: the World has given Iran more time to comply Build.
The head of the UN nuclear watchdog says he and Iran's chief negotiator have agreed to draw up a plan of action within two months on how to resolve questions about Iran's disputed nuclear program.

They support fight our Troops

They don't want Our Troops to recruit more Troops, or to get their stuff, or to do their job...
After blocking the roads to US ports to prevent supplies from reaching our troops, After protesting any action by our troops and after working to stop recruiting efforts it is obvious that the far left has followed a clear plan... But is this just part of a larger plan? Some want to go even further, ANSWER has over the last year been talking about a shift in the movement, vague hints at revolution. I personally have heard calls for armed revolution coming from speakers at ANSWER rallies. I fully expect to hear these calls increase this summer, this is not a new call, I have a pamphlet handed out at an answer rally on March 20 2003. This is an excerpt

A message to the U.S. Anti-War
Movement.

----------

The only possibility of stopping this current military action is to engage in strategies and tactics which severely disrupt the war machine, the U.S. economy, and the overall functioning of U.S. society particularly how it relates to consumerism and the economy. Marches, picketing, rallies, parties, benefits, civil disobedience and even property destruction are pointless, and perhaps even counterproductive, unless they serve to severely disrupt the functioning of the political system and its economy. An atmosphere of severe unrest, if manufactured properly, will force the U.S. government to place military resources in the streets of the United States, will threaten the economy (the Chief motive behind this military excursion) of the United States, and ultimately create a political atmosphere unfavorable for Bush to continue on with the war.

So how is an atmosphere of severe unrest and disruption generated? First and foremost, it must begin with our ability to look beyond the business as usual strategies and tactics that have failed miserably in the past. It must begin with our allegiance to come to terms with the realization that any and all tactics and strategies must be considered at least available for use. Next we must be willing to decipher exactly how the power of the political structure can be effectively challenged. Once this matter has been examined there is only one question remaining, will each of us become involved and use whatever tactics and strategies are necessary, or will we refuse and continue to engage solely in conduct which serves little other purpose that making people feel better about themselves.

Here are some suggestions for the necessary creation of an atmosphere of unrest and disruption in the United States.

1) Attack the financial centers of the country. Using covert or black block techniques, depending on the situation, physically shut down financial centers which regulate and assist the functioning of the U.S. economy. This can be done in a variety of ways from massive property destruction, to online sabotage, to physical occupation of building. However the latter I would shy away from, especially the open civil disobedience type of activities which purposely involve arrests. This movement needs all the assistance it can get and absolutely NO good will come from going to jail. Allowing yourself to be purposely arrested demonstrates that an individual has at least some faith in the U.S. legal system. This is completely foolish. One primary objective is to engage in serious unrest and disruption and NOT to get caught. Not getting caught means you are able to continue the struggle the nest day.
2) Large Scale urban rioting. With massive unrest and even state of emergencies declared in major cities across the country, the U.S. government will be forced to send U.S. troops into the domestic arena thereby taking resources and political focus away from the war. Unstable conditions in much of the country also serve as a political embarrassment for the Administration and should assist in forcing them to stop the war to deal with domestic concerns. Rioting should be focused on governmental agencies and corporations - especially those that are profiting from the war or destruction of life.
3) Attack the media centers of the country. It is the corporate media who had and continues to influence and control the minds of the mass body of people in the United States. These news media outlets cannot be utilized by the movement as they are owned by the very corporations one should be opposing. Using any means necessary, shut down the national networks of NBC, ABC, CBS,CNN, etc. Not just occupations but actually engage in strategies and tactics which knock the networks off the air.
4) Spread the battle to the individuals responsible for the war and destruction of life - the very heads of governments and U.S. corporations. No longer should these people be able to hide behind their occupations, living their lives in peace while they simultaneously slaughter countless people. Hit them in their personal lives, visit their homes, and make them feel personally responsible for committing massive atrocities.
5) Make it known publicly that this movement DOES NOT Support U.S. troops as long as they are serving an unjust and horrifying political regime. Create an atmosphere lacking of support to assist U.S. troops at home and abroad in losing their morale and will to fight. If you are supporting the troops you are supporting this war and the very U.S. government that is the primary terrorist regime in the international arena.
6) Actively target U.S. military establishment within the United States. Again, following the above stated goal of NOT getting caught, use any means necessary to slow down the functioning of the murdering body.
7) when engaging in the above six activities, strike hard and fast and retreat in anonymity. Select another location, strike again hadr and fast and quickly retreat in anonymity. Engage only in actions where you will be victorious. Do not be concerned with alienating the mainstream sectors of the movement - that mainstream has NEVER stopped a U.S. military activity or war. Do not be concerned with public opinion. Public opinion will not stop this war. Action will. Do not get caught. DO NOT GET CAUGHT. Do not get sent to jail. Stay alert, keep active, and keep fighting. Remember, an action is only good (especially at this juncture in U.S. society) if it will serve to severely disrupt the political system of the country, its economy, and the corporate interests that drive this society

These suggestions are not radical. They are merely recommendations for those that desire to actually have a chance at stopping this current military siege. As the peace or anti-war corporate organizations vocally oppose this message ant its enclosed suggestions, continue to ask what realistic chance do their strategies and tactics have to actually stop this war? What historical precedent do their business as usual politics and policies have? As no peace or anti-war movement has ever stopped U.S. government military policies or activities using the state sanctioned and societal approved methods, what right do they have to give the caring public false hope?

This is a call to armed conflict, not a peaceful protest, as the left fails again to stop this war. After the election failed to produce an end to this war. Antiwar leaders have been increasingly shrill in their rhetoric and even warning of stepped up measures to be announced July 4th.
SEPT 22- 29: It's time to move from Protest to Resistance

Are we dealing with a peace movement or an anti-America movement?

Inside the green house: Were #2

We have lost our edge in the crucial field of CO2 emissions. China now out produces us and they are continuing to expand their production by building many more coal burning power plants.

"With this, China tops the list of CO2 emitting countries for the first time," it said. Almost all scientists say rising amounts of carbon dioxide will bring more droughts, floods, desertification, heatwaves, disease and rising seas.

So with all this doom and gloom on the horizon, why would China risk the Earth just to have Electricity?

China and other major developing nations have promised to do their "fair share" to curb greenhouse gases but say it is too early to talk of caps or cuts when rising energy use is key to helping hundreds of millions of people escape poverty.

So what does the Kyoto Protocol require of China... not much.

Right now CBS news (and I saw one report on fox) are the only ones carrying this story of the rescue of 24 starved and neglected boys from an Iraqi orphanage. It seems that the people in charge were looting the money and goods that were given to aid the boys, 3 have fled and 2 are in custody, Well I’m guessing no virgins for them in paradise.

A spokeswoman for the government ministry responsible for the orphanage said that the building's director had been arrested, together with several members of his staff.

My God, we are so evil:

Did you read the Reuters news story with the headline "U.S. led air raid kills seven children"? How can one nation be so evil as to wantonly killing seven children in their school.
At least seven children were killed in a U.S.-led coalition air strike on a religious school in Afghanistan, the coalition said on Monday, amid rising anger over civilian deaths from foreign military operations.

This is an awful thing we have done isn't it... Why did we bomb a school in Afghanistan... well the Reuters story goes on to talk about
The air strike on the school occurred on Sunday, the same day a suspected suicide bomber killed more than 20 people in an attack on a police bus in the heart of Kabul.

Other violence around the country made it one of the bloodiest days since the Taliban were driven from power in 2001

The U.S.-led and Afghan forces killed several dozen insurgents in a "prolonged battle" in southern Helmand province that day, the U.S. military said on Monday

Oh now we get back to the children that died... It seem that they we being used has human Shields by the enemy!
The air strike that killed the children occurred in southeastern Paktika province near the Pakistan border, the coalition said.
It had been part of an operation aimed at a compound containing a mosque and a madrasa thought to have been used as a safehouse by al Qaeda fighters, the coalition said.

So perhaps I can adjust the headline for Al-Reuters just a bit
Terrorist use children as Shields seven died

Peace at War

The violence in Gaza by Hamas has netted them a Nobel Peace Prize.
"They stole almost everything inside the house, including Arafat's Nobel Peace Prize medal," said Ramallah-based Fatah spokesman Ahmed Abdel Rahman. "Hamas militiamen and gangsters blew up the main entrance to the house before storming it. They stole many of Arafat's documents and files, gifts he had received from world leaders and even his military outfits."

Arafat received the prize for signing an accord he had no intention of honoring so it's fitting that it is now in the hands of people who have no desire for peace.

But I'm not always prompt about things.

If the school won't do anything...

Larson and her mother, Anastasia Larson, said they had complained several times to school administrators and talked to Noakes about her language and behavior to no effect
Take the matter to an assembly

Savannah Larson, 13, gave the first performance in the spring concert attended by about 700 students, teachers, relatives and friends at Monticello Middle School. At the end of singing Rogers & Hart's "Where or When," she delivered what first appeared to be a verbal nod to the instructor, Constance S. "Connie" Noakes.

"I forgot to thank my wonderful choir teacher, Ms. Noakes, for all that she's taught me these past couple of years, like always knowing what to say in any situation, like...," Larson began, then let fly a stream of expletives and obscenities she said Noakes regularly used in class.

A message to Truthers

Be good Americans, GO AWAY...

It’s hard for me to contain my anger at these fools and liars who twist this awful event to sustain their agenda of hate for our great nation.

I did some research after posting about 9-11, an attempt to defend Rudy Giuliani. This post netted me the most comments of any so far. I kept my side of the conversation confined to the subject at hand and answering direct questions, the more I answered the more I got told how uninformed I was. Still I enjoyed the conversation, until one truther descended into an attack on my faith, a person who knows nothing about me (something I've also posted about) I found these attacks to be a common tactic by the far left who infest these 9-11 and anti-war movements, and they are the same btw don't let anyone fool you. Well all I can say is, give it up, they will not listen to reason, anything you say is automatically discarded as your own ignorance. They have scholars on their side you know.

Anyway I did some searching at youtube to find some videos of the attacks, in particular the south side of building 7, to see what they claim to be proof, to point out what is the real truth. What I’ve found to be most striking is the way they come up with one possible explanation and present it as the only possible explanation. Yet it is really a stretch to come up with the possibility they came up with.

Lets take one and work it thru… The Towers were brought down by explosives. (Just a note: they’ve changed this to thermite charges because they couldn’t keep up the lie.) First it is not possible to rig the building in a way that it would not be noticed. Next the amount of explosives would be huge (so it’s thermite now). So lets go now with thermite, what about the squibs? They were key to the explosives theory, so now are the truthers going to finally accept the government’s story that the squibs were just built up pressure from the collapse escaping? No!

Today I learned a new twist on the truthers movement, i.e. the videos we all saw of the 2nd plane hit the tower was fake, yes fake, the truthers say the tape was fake and done poorly; they want CNN to go to jail. I kid you not. I also learned that advance space lasers were used. How could any sane person follow this madness?

Update: Spelling corrections by Steve.

They don't say what kind of graffiti was found, but they are quick to dismiss the possibility of any political motives. And this is not the first time Starbucks was targeted.

Several Portland-area Starbucks locations and a McMenamins restaurant were vandalized on Wednesday, police said. A glue-like substance was found in the door locks, and there was also graffiti on some of the windows.

When is art not "ART"

When someone throws it away thinking they've cleaned up the place.

Art project mistaken for vandalism is vandalized

An art project that was mistaken for vandalism was the target of vandals who destroyed the exhibit last week.

The exhibit in the Southern Oregon University art courtyard and art buildings consisted of 36,000 feet of red tape. It was titled "The Depravity of Society Juxtaposed Against the Apathy of Contemporary Culture"

Police cited an SOU sophomore, Genevieve Hummel, 19, for tearing the installation down, and the university art department is pressing charges.

"I didn't know it was an art project," Hummel said. "It wasn't labeled. No one knew it was an art project."

Inside the Green House: The debate is over?

Well it is over if you attack anyone who dares suggest we try something different?

"I have no doubt that a trend of global warming exists," Griffin told Inskeep. "I am not sure that it is fair to say that it is a problem we must wrestle with."
"To assume that it is a problem is to assume that the state of Earth's climate today is the optimal climate, the best climate that we could have or ever have had and that we need to take steps to make sure that it doesn't change," Griffin said. "I guess I would ask which human beings — where and when — are to be accorded the privilege of deciding that this particular climate that we have right here today, right now is the best climate for all other human beings. I think that's a rather arrogant position for people to take."

So sounds like he thinks we should wait a bit and make sure that we know all of the facts before we act... kinda like "look before you leap."

"It's an incredibly arrogant and ignorant statement," Hansen told ABC News. "It indicates a complete ignorance of understanding the implications of climate change." James Hansen, NASA's top climate scientist at the Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York.

"I was shocked by the statement and I think the administrator ought to resign. I don't see how he can be the effective leader of a science agency if he doesn't understand the threat of global warming," said Michael Oppenheimer, a Princeton University atmospheric scientist and lead author of some of the latest reports issued by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, or IPCC.

No dog in this fight?

"Setting aside NASA Administrator Griffin's personal views on the significance of global warming, I remain concerned that NASA is not doing as much as needs to be done on climate change data collection and research," said Rep. Bart Gordon, D.-Tenn.

The truth within the lie...

The leftwing anti-war newspaper the Washington Post has an article on how bad things are going in Iraq. they comment on how the enemy has gotten better at killing our guys, this is sad news and it is completely true. But it leaves out some facts and if you'll allow me I’ll try to help you see it.

Attacks on U.S. Troops in Iraq Grow in Leathality, Complexity

Iraqi insurgents are using increasingly sophisticated and lethal means of attack, including bigger roadside bombs that are resulting in greater numbers of American fatalities

OK so the bad guys are getting better bombs... We knew that, the President told us so, and just who is it that is giving the bad guys the better bombs, look it up dude!

A new counterinsurgency strategy has resulted in decreased civilian deaths in Baghdad but has placed thousands of additional American troops at greater risk in small outposts in the capital and other parts of the country.
So our new strategy has taken the heat off of the Iraqis, that's good news right?

"It is very clear that the number of attacks against U.S. forces is up" and that they have grown more effective in Baghdad, especially in recent weeks, said Maj. Gen. James E. Simmons,
Well yes but why are the bad guys so aggressive?

the overarching cause of May's toll is the ongoing, large-scale U.S. military operations. Simmons called the high U.S. losses in May "a very painful and heart-wrenching experience."
I see it's because our guys are on the offensive! We are in their faces and they don't like it!
The intensity of combat and the greater lethality of attacks on U.S. troops is underscored by the lower ratio of wounded to killed for May, which fell to about 4.8 to 1 -- compared with an average of 8 to 1 in the Iraq conflict,
Oh now the casualties may not be increased has much has we have been led to believe, only the bombs are getting better, 4.8 wounded to every one killed compared to the average of 8 to 1, so in February 80 killed in Iraq means about 560 wounded total of 640, compared to 132 killed last month means 501 wounded total of 633. So is this a true escalation of attacks our just better weapons? Remember we are also going into and seeking out the enemy right now. Perhaps we are the one getting better at tactics?
U.S. deaths have risen sharply in some of Baghdad's outlying regions, such as Diyala province, where Sunni and Shiite groups have escalated sectarian violence and fought back hard against American forces moving into their safe havens.
The enemy, they say, has escalated the violence, but aren’t we the ones on the move?
Insurgents are also staging carefully planned, complex ambushes and retaliatory attacks as they target U.S. troops, the officials said. While few in number, these include direct assaults on U.S. military outposts, ambushes in which American troops have been captured, and complex attacks that use multiple weapons to strike more than one U.S. target. For example, attackers will bomb a patrol and then target ground forces or aircraft that come to its aid.
Oh no this sounds dangerous what are we to do?
While the vast majority of attacks are still relatively simple and involve a single type of weapon, "clearly the trend is going in the wrong direction," he said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to reporters.

Oh so it's not the vast majority? Is it even the majority? We don't know. He says "While few in number" in the paragraph above. And who is it that shared this important information with us? We don't even know that, he's not authorized to give out this information, is he authorized to even know it? Or is this just his guess? Well let’s read further into the story to see where the trend is going.
In an attack Monday in Diyala, for example, an OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter carrying two U.S. soldiers took heavy enemy fire during combat and crashed in farmland southwest of the town of Abu Saydah, about 40 miles north of Baghdad in a region where the Sunni extremist group al-Qaeda in Iraq is trying to establish a new stronghold.
This sounds bad...
The U.S. military scrambled Bradley Fighting Vehicles at Forward Operating Base Normandy, 19 miles from the crash, for an urgent rescue. But as the Quick Reaction Force rumbled through the rural terrain just a mile and a half from the crash site, a huge roadside bomb hit a Bradley, killing four soldiers and
wounding another four, one mortally. Suddenly, the rescue mission itself was in
peril, and helicopters rushed to evacuate the injured.

This sounds worse
Other units pushed forward to the copter crash, recovering the bodies of the pilots and killing three insurgents.

Oh our guys got their men and took out more of the bad guys, this is good see.
But back at the Bradley bomb site, where soldiers were clearing the wreckage, a second bomb exploded, killing another U.S. soldier.

Oh yea could not end on an up note could we.
U.S. commanders have long warned that more casualties would probably result from the increase of about 25,800 U.S. troops ordered by President Bush in January.

Oh yea I remember... So why is the Post talking about this like it's unexpected? Did they do this after D-Day? Or after the battle of the Bulge? No it was after Tet(sp) in Vietnam, that was when the media learned they could report defeat after a victory!
Commanders credit U.S. military operations with sharply lowering civilian deaths in Baghdad. The numbers of civilians killed and wounded as well as sectarian murders have all fallen roughly 50 percent in Baghdad in the 90 days ending in mid-May

Oh boy, good news! We have managed to cut down the attacks on civilians by half while not receiving an increase in overall casualties! So what has been happening to the bad guys during all of this?
U.S. patrols and raids have also uncovered nearly 2,500 weapons caches and killed or captured more than 20,000 insurgents, militia members and other fighters nationwide since January. Among the enemy killed or captured are more than 1,700 individual targets considered "high value," in what military officials and analysts say is an effort to eliminate leaders of enemy cells in hopes they cannot quickly be replaced.

Looks to me like they are getting hit pretty hard, now let's take the formula from above and try to figure out how many of the bad guys died in this surge? 2500 dead using the 8 to 1 wound/kill ratio. Hmm, if we keep this up we just might win this thing!
But after lying low to a degree and watching U.S. tactics, fighters are now responding and retaliating. "In February, all sides -- including al-Qaeda in Iraq, Jaish al-Mahdi -- stepped back to take the measure of the surge, and by late April and May, they stepped forward again and are aggressively testing the resolve of U.S. forces," said Toby Dodge, an Iraq expert at Queen Mary College University of London, using the Arabic name of the Shiite Mahdi Army.

Oh oh the news was looking good again! Let’s put a damper on it, you think? And let’s think a bit about where the terrorist are getting the ideal our resolve may be weakening? from CNNThe favored Democratic presidential candidates are facing criticism after they voted against a bill to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Military officials and analysts say the factors contributing to the increased deaths will likely not ease soon. "We are looking at a very nasty summer," Dodge said.

Because we will continue to hunt down the bad guys and kill them wherever they hide!!!

So let me fix the headline...
