Cordoba in perspective

I’ve never been to New York so when people say the planed Cordoba mosque is 2 blocks away from ground zero

Cordoba Initiative (CI) aims to achieve a tipping point in Muslim-West relations within the next decade, steering the world back to the course of mutual recognition and respect and away from heightened tensions.

I don’t really know what that is. Some blocks are long others are short. If you don’t know the city it could mean almost any distance from 50 ft to half a mile (what you’ve never been to Texas?) So I decided to check it out for myself with a quick trip to Google Maps. It is very close.

A couple of thoughts, One of the landing gears fell here. The Mosque building is now called Park 51, but Cordoba is still used to describe a “Community Outreach” program they intend to operate from there. Funding seems to be the new issue as the project needs 100,000,000.00 and the Imam is going abroad on a “goodwill” tour to the Middle East.
