Why is it so Offensive?

Building the Ground Zero Mosque, is like building the Tim McVeigh Cultural Center and Turner Diaries Reading Library at 621 North Harvey Ave in Oklahoma City. Sure they own the land and have the right, who are we to stand in the way of a broader understanding?

Personal note: The President is backing away, saying that he only meant they had the right to build it not that it should be built, yet in the video it is clear that the President has a strong level of anger towards those who oppose this mosque. It does not matter the history of the place nor the history of the chosen name. The history of the man behind this nor his known support for terror organizations like Hamas. To add to the outrage is the fact that he is going and has gone on tax payer funded trips to the Middle East to “Promote understanding” (read networking for future fundraising) The President’s endorsement of what the White House had call a local matter that they would not get int0 just day before amounts to a dismissal of the concerns and sensibilities of Millions of Americans, in the name of “building dialog”.  The Park 51 Group said it best when responding to Greg Gutfeld’s plan to build a Gay Bar next to this mosque. ...You’re free to open whatever you like. If you won’t consider the sensibilities of Muslims,  Americans you’re not going to build dialog…

Only one church was destroyed at Ground Zero, St. Nicolas, an Orthodox church built decades ago by people who had fled Islamic domination. It is nearly ten years later and New York City has refused to allow the congregation to build a new church. New York didn't like the size of the new church (about 1/10 the size of the mega mosque that was approved) or the typical Orthodox domes. It appears city officials thought it was too big a church for the area. But, a fifteen story mosque is OK? Nearly ten years after their church was destroyed by Muslim fanatics the congregation still has no church. Why is Bloomberg administration blocking the construction of this church at Ground Zero, yet so anxious to have a mega mosque built there?

HT: Knowledge is Power who HT’ed Mech who asks “Would we allow a statue of McVeigh at the Murrah building?
